In a past review I wrote, I gave Book 1 of The Legend of Korra a 9/10. While it is a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender, it doesn't just retread familiar territory. Instead, we are treated to another incredibly dense world set 70 years after the original series. However, as much as The Legend of Korra separates itself from Avatar: The Last Airbender, it still remains true to the overall mythos and even finds ways to include past characters from the previous series. The pacing could have been improved with the addition of more episodes in the season, which only has 12, and the romance aspect felt especially chaotic because of it. The visual and audio quality is unavoidably fantastic and it's an excellent compliment to the flawlessly choreographed action sequences and charming humor. If you're already a fan of Avatar, then you cannot miss out on The Legend of Korra and, if you haven't been introduced to the Avatar series, then it's time you picked this up and gave it a shot. This is pure entertainment for the entire family.
