I watched the premier of The Last Airbender when it first came out and that show has held a special place in my heart ever since. While I was a little skeptical to watch The Legend of Korra fearing that the apes who directed and produced (and ruined!) the live-action movie might of had a hand in making the new show. Fortunately though the Legend of Korra was made by the same people who made the original show, and after finding that out I decided to give it a try. I can honestly say I have now found my favorite show. It is brilliantly directed, written and produced. The battles through-out the series are ten-fold to the battles of the original series. The plot line goes so, soo much deeper too, it is constantly twisting and changing leaving you at the edge of your chair wishing for more at the end of every episode. I can not wait for Book four to be released. Now, while I do give this product five starts because of the quality of the show I would give it only 2 stars for the product itself. I ordered both Books 1 & 2. The shipping container came damaged with a hole in it, Book 1 had a large crack on the back top right corner (which had nothing to do with the hole in the shipping container) and it was missing the sleeve that the DVD box was supposed to come inside of and both Books were slightly crushed. The discs themselves are in fine shape however so I am not entirely mad, just upset at the lack of care taken to protect the items I had ordered and the lack of attention paid to make sure the came as described.

I am a huge fan of the original series (The Last Airbender) and this series is just as good if not better. The combat animation is superb and seeing how the world has advanced since the rule of the Fire Nation was broken and the families of characters you loved (or hated) moved on was a real joy. I also think the story may be a bit tighter and matches a bit of the darker tones of the last season of the Airbender. Thankfully the humor and really well done character building is still present in my opinion.

If you are a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, then this is a must watch. This show feels like a natural progression from the youthfulness of the previous series to the adolescence of this series. The action, comedy, and excellent storytelling is all there. While the romantic elements play very much to the high school audience, the overall maturity of the show is quite refreshing for western animation. I can't wait for the following season as an excellent base for the show has been established.
