Great addition to the Zelda series

An enjoyable Zelda experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first 2D Zelda in several years, A Link Between Worlds meets all expectations that players have for the Zelda franchise. Though the game reuses the general world layout featured in A Link to the Past, there are plenty of new and revamped locales and events to keep it from being brushed off as a "remake" or a "rehash." Story-wise, players may notice many similarities to the iconic SNES game. Once again, Link must save sages, a princess, and Hyrule from a looming darkness, Luckily, the story slightly veers off of the beaten path once Link enters Lorule, the shadow of Hyrule, and meets the kingdom's ruler, Princess Hilda. Most importantly, the ten or so dungeons are all-new and feature clever puzzles that test the player's wall-merging and item-using skills. The new wall-merging mechanic is a welcomed addition to Link's pool of abilities, much like the game's item renting service. This renting service allows players to rent traditional dungeon items, like the Bow or Hookshot, at any time in the story. Being able to rent any of the games items at any time lets players tackle most of the dungeons in any order. However, the main drawback to this freedom is the lowering of overall dungeon difficulty. Since the game uses a non-linear approach, the dungeons are all designed to be the player's possible first dungeon. However, this is not to say that all dungeons are cake-walks. Dungeons intended to be taken on near the end of the game slam players with hard-hitting enemies and puzzles, providing them with a suitable challenge. Although A Link Between Worlds may appear to be A Link to the Past with a coat of 3DS paint, the game is something more. With an interesting enough story, new dungeons, puzzles that challenges players to think outside the box, and a fresh take on the old Zelda item-collecting formula, A Link Between Worlds creates its own identity as a Zelda title. While it may be overshadowed by the two Nintendo 64 Zelda remakes on the 3DS, A Link Between World is a must-buy for players seeking an all-new Zelda adventure.

Great Visit to the Land of Hyrule
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i am a long fan of the Zelda Franchise my Favorite being A Link to The Past with that said i have so far throughly enjoyed this Revist to the Land of Hyrule A link to the past style gameplay and same map. so far the only complaint i have about the game is that you have to "Rent" the items you normally would attain in dungeons and if you die you have to Rent them again. other than that the story has been great and no game breaking issues. the usual High Quality from Nintendo!

Amazing game for classic Legend of Zelda fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game as I had played nearly every Zelda title, though I prefer the 3D style versions such as Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess, but found that it was a thoughtful and effective throwback to the top down style of Zelda games like the first Legend of Zelda in the series and especially A Link to the Past. If you even remotely like Zelda games or adventure games, this item is a must have. The 3D elements added quite a bit to the overall feel of the game and surprisingly worked very well. Top notch.
