Strong Return to Form for Soilwork

IMO Soilwork's new double album, 'The Living Infinite' is a strong return to the form seen on earlier to mid-career albums like, 'Natural Born Chaos' through 'Stabbing the Drama' - the best years for this band. For me, the last two albums, 'Sworn to a Great Divide' and 'The Panic Broadcast' just didn't work for me- just too 'radio-friendly' as it were and lacking any real edge. The Living Infinite is a return to the edge and energy of the afore mentioned albums while still maintaining Speed's much improved vocals and overall melody. Just the right balance of melody and Death Metal speed and aggression. (In Flames take note- this is how it's done) All of the songs are killer, but stand out tracks include, "Spectrum of Eternity" "Long Live the Misanthrope" and "Rise Above the Sentiment". Plus, I must say Best Buy offered the absolute lowest price ($9.99- cheaper than the i-tunes download) on this double -album with free shipping AND it arrived a day earlier than its release. Very pumped to hear this ahead of its actual release date.

An excellent return to form for one of the best bands in the Swedish melodic death/thrash metal movement. This is a very aggressive release, unlike their recent output. There are songs on this release that have the aggression of songs from Steelbath Suicide and the Chainheart Machine, and many prog elements like they featured on Natural Born Chaos. A recommended listen to fans who haven't been happy with their recent output!

To be completely honest, this album was such a surprise and wish come true for me. I can honestly say that all 20 songs are worth your time. I like to support artists, so I buy the cd's when I can. I have to say that for this cheap of a price, and that many great songs, it is such a deal and Soilwork deserves it anyway. Don't be on the fence about buying it! Just go listen on youtube first or something. Seriously epic!

I've been spinning these discs in my CD player for about a month, and I love them more with every play. Soilwork keeps refining their sound as the years go on, and they keep getting more melodic while still retaining their heaviness. Tracks like Spectrum of Eternity and The Living Infinite are excellent examples of this. Long-time fans of Soilwork will feel right at home, and newcomers will find a new favorite band.

The first double album release for a melodic death metal album. This is one of their strongest releases, even without the return of their lead guitarist peter wichers. These guys sound as tight as the've ever been, and I'm actually gonna go listen to it right now. Peace!

Soilwork is a band thats new to me, but they have pulled me in with how tight, and percise their playing is, not to mention their powerfull sound. A double album at such a good price can't be matched.

This double album is awesome. There is a great blend of heavy, killer riffs to go along with some great melodies thoroughout. Both discs are very good and it does not get boring at all.

Soilwork put some great songs of this double-disc, but I honestly would have been happy with just one disc, and a more solid album.
