Description
Features
The player-driven story RPG: In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops, but your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios
You can be flawed, in a good way: New to The Outer Worlds is the idea of flaws. Compelling heroes are made by the flaws they carry with them. While playing The Outer Worlds, the game tracks your experience to find what you aren't particularly good at
Keep getting attacked by Raptidons? Taking the Raptiphobia flaw gives you a debuff when confronting the vicious creatures, but rewards you with an additional character perk immediately. This optional approach to the game helps you build the character you want while exploring Halcyon
Lead your companions: During your journey through the farthest colony, you will meet a host of characters who will want to join your crew
Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. It's up to you to help them achieve their goals, or turn them to your own ends
Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a colony at the edge of the galaxy owned and operated by a corporate board. They control everything except for the alien monsters left behind when the terraforming of the colony's two planets didn't exactly go according to the plan
Find your ship, build your crew, and explore the settlements, space stations, and other intriguing locations throughout Halcyon

The RPG we wanted Fallout 4 to be
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Obsidian Entertainment essentially made Fallout without the Fallout license. It has the same tone as Bethesda's Fallout games despite the setting being wildly different, the gameplay feels similar yet more refined, and there is an added layer of polish that has been absent from this style of game for awhile. Buy this game if: -You enjoy Role Playing Games. -You are a fan of Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas, or even Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. -You want to see a game developed by masters of the genre. -You like quests with meaningful choices, dialogue with impact, and an atmosphere that is unmatched by modern games in the genre. -You want to support a developer who clearly deserves it. -You dislike abuse of power specifically on a corporate level. Do NOT buy this game if: -RPG's just aren't your thing. -You have astrophobia. -You think Fallout 76 is a genuinely good game. -You love capitalism and corporate abuses of power.* -You dislike dialogue in video games. This is an informal review, thus I wouldn't give the game a score, but this is legitimately everything I, and many others, wanted Fallout 4 to be. I say this as someone who has enjoyed Fallout 4 for ~1000 hours. Seriously, The Outer Worlds is a master class in game design and Obsidian deserves all praise they get. It isn't perfect, there are a few things that the game could use (grenades, third person mode, more Parvati, etc.) but the pros greatly outweigh the cons and I highly recommend it. *Actually, if you like corporate abuses of power then this game might even be for you. It's an RPG to the core and supports you making choices, thus you can be a corporate shill.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is reminiscent of the recent Fallout games, has a similar feeling when playing. Play the way you want and change your stats/style anytime after the intro section. Overall, i would say play this if u like a solid story with some humor and action.

Fallout feel with more action feel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very reminiscent of Fallout with the text selection having future consequences among desolate landscape. Action battles I’ve had to date seem but faster, think Fallout 4. However, the story and character development make this game a standout despite similar mechanics to top tier games. Flattery still is the best form of expression of love and admiration.

Out of your Fallout world
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A must Buy if you like, fallout 3 or fallout new vegas. Better than fallout 4. Just fallout 4 is a long game. This games is a shooter style game but not in the call of duty or modern warfare style. Dont expect an arcade or run and gun nonsense here. The story choices you make and quests you complete affect how well you do in the game. Also, this game takes on adult subjects, like romance, family and intergalactic capetalism BUT it doesn't take it self too seriously. Or at least it gives you the option to care or not.... or whatever. Obsidian has a pretty go track record of trying to give players some options. Which is nice. When the choices actually make a significant difference. They decisions arent to major in this game. But still appreciated. The game isnt too long for a Shooter RPG, at about 30 to 40 hours. Which is good and bad. Good because it moves along at a good pace with very little grinding. But bad as the end of the game goes by very quickly.... almost rushed...but in a good cause you dont want it to end.

Great game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s everything you love about fallout style 1st person adventure. Good story and short learning curve. Definitely has a replay value. Only knock is a wish it was longer. It isn’t short but it’s not massive 15- 25 Depending on how many subplots you what to get involved in, it also has a pretty good sense of humor!

This Game Was A Great Adventure Game.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game gave you the freedom to explore and do side quest. You had very creative characters and environments and you had the ability to make your own choices. The sound effects was great and it had some replay game value to it. So yeah was a fun game if you like adventure games.

Q: QuestionI am adult fairly new to video gaming & need a game that would be or have like a "beginner" setting/mode (if there IS such a thing). In other words I don't wanna just start the game & keep dying off the bat. Would this be a good game for beginners?
Asked by SeattleMink.
- A:Answer Yes! There are multiple difficulty levels to select upon starting the game. I believe there is one that is story only, then basic 1st play through level, then a little bit harder, and the max level is kicked up a few notches, meaning you have to eat to stay alive etc.
