Within the obvious constrictions of a modest budget, and a "C" list cast, more like a 2.5 star so I'm rounding down to two stars. The movie suffers from the now worn out horror film device of having "professionals" do very dumb things so they can land in bad situations, so they then compound that by more very questionable decision making, leading to the final confrontation with what`s under the Pyramid and hunting them. Good setting, subpar visuals, just ok acting, good thing I got this on special.

This movie was great and has the right amount of chills and suspense for horror movie lovers. An archaeologist and his daughter, along with a journalist, photographer and an interpreter, enter a tomb of tunnels, mystery and terror. It's pretty slow at first, then it melds into bloody violence. I won't tell what horror awaits them, but I thought I made the right choice paying the admission price for this film. I jumped in my chair in some scenes. Worth it for the plot and fans of horror.

A hidden pyramid is found in the desert during the revolt in Egypt, how about a quick look before the violence forces us out of the country...Sure!...Why not?...And so it begins! This movie was well-paced, with some nice surprises, and a whole lot of fun. Based on Egyptian mythology, while not reinventing the wheel, I found the flow of the story effective and engaging. I picked it up due to the subject matter and had a fun time...can't wait to show it to my friends.

We bought this movie after browsing the new release racks. The description sounded promising. However, when we got it home and started watching it, we soon realized that this film seemed to be made only for shock value with very little or believable story line. The REAL shock of this film is why we even bought it. If you absolutely must see it, then wait for it to get on the bargain racks, Don't waste your money on this one.

There aren't many Egyptian based horrors so this was unique. It's partly found-footage and the traps/mythology of tomb raiding was cool. Unfortunately it wasn't immersive and I cared little about the characters. It wouldn't be out of place viewed on the SyFy channel. Review 2.5/5 If you want to see a similar, but much well put together underground trap horror (with added psychological terror), check out "As Above So Below".

This movie was excellent, it had some jump scares and it had some unexpected traps. There were several parts of the movie that were predictable and could have been done differently but noting worth complaining about. The movie had one big complaint in the theaters and that it was filmed to dark. This holds true for the blue ray release as well but simply adjust the brightness on your TV and the movie is good to go.

I have a fascination with Egypt & enjoy a good mummy movie. I didn't recall ever hearing about this movie & figured even if it was mediocre, it would fit in nice with my collection. I'm not a tough movie critic & am usually pretty easily entertained. It was really tough to get all the way through the whole movie, it was just so bad. Now I know why I never heard of this one. Don't waste your time.

In no way is The Pyramid a great film, but if you're in the mood for some bloody monster movie style fun, then this should give you what you're looking for. Dennis O'Hare seems to be acting down a bit and the special effects are a little hokey, but if you enjoy movies like The Relic and The Descent, you should like this too. Turn down the lights and take the ride!
