Recently separated from her husband and seeking to start a new life in the city, single doctor Juliet (Hillary Swank) rents a spacious apartment in Brooklyn and finds herself beset on all sides by a mysterious, unseen force of evil. Is there a rational explanation behind the unsettling events unfolding all around Juliet, or could it be that she is being pursued by forces beyond human comprehension? From acclaimed horror studio Hammer Films (Let Me In, The Woman in Black) comes this unrelentingly tense thriller co-starring Christopher Lee and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.~Jason Buchanan
Credits are accompanied by a very apprehensive and creepy sound-track setting the stage for things to come. The story-line starts out showily building a base for the mystery/thriller components of the film that will begin to surface shortly. Hilary Swank’s character [Dr. Juliet Devereau] is an ER Doctor at a New York City Hospital and she is physically-fit and a jogger. The landlord Max (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is friendly and smooth, and his father August (Christopher Lee) is old, lonely and a stranger. This flick has a real edge to it, the plot-line is very well developed, and superbly directed. Swank and Morgan at the top of their acting game and both really deliver a superb performance. If you are seeking a Mystery/Thriller this film delivers that in spades – this is it and its’ a great view.
