A Good Way to Meet God
||Posted .I read the book and marvelled at Young's portrayal of God. Each part of the Trinity has a separate and vital personality. It makes God personal and divine at the same time. Most film adaptations don't meet the mark of the book, but this one does. It masterfully captures the relationship developing between the main character, Mack, and these unique aspects of God, each helping him to heal past a tragedy in a special way. It is spirituality with subtlety.

A beautiful movie!
||Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This movie is a winner for me for sure. It shows a strong Christian man who grew up through domestic violence and persevered through hardship to support a lovely family and protect his kids. Unfortunately, When one of his kids has an accident and tragedy strikes, He is left looking for answers, and finds the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in a shack and is brought through an incredible adventure that tests his faith and trust in the Lord, And he finally gets an answer and is able to connect with the Lord on a more personal level. Great Movie. Great Representation of the Holy Spirit as well... Definitely teared up a couple of times since I can relate to what he went through with his Dad. I love the scene where he meats his Dad in Heaven and also the emotional scene where his young Daughter who was kidnapped is wrapped in flowers and a white robe like Jesus was.

Touching and thought provoking.
||Posted .I have been a self identified Agnostic for a number of years for various reasons. I was drawn to this movie because of it's cast, in particular Octavia Spencer. I found The Shack very touching and thought provoking. It brought you along for the emotional ride with the father/main character as he experiences the deeply emotional life event that makes him ask the questions he does, in the way he does. It is a similar, but not nearly as traumatic event that affected me, so the theme of the movie had a particular interest to me. I found, even myself, after so many years, being opened and touched by the resolving premise and strongly recommend the movie as a very good viewing experience and a healing experience.

One of the Best Movies I've ever seen
||Posted .The Shack is not just one of the best faith-based movies that I've seen. It's one of the best ... period. Of course, the story line from the book is outstanding. It offers a fascinating insight into who God is. Some don't like it because the picture of God it presents is very unconventional, but I believe this really taps into the real nature of God ... which is far beyond our ability to fully understand. God transcends us, and The Shack paints a vivid portrait of this. But it also gives a truly amazing picture of God's grace toward people, especially those who may seem to be unlikely or unworthy. And then it provides an unforgettable climax showing the transforming power of forgiveness. All this is done with a disarming warmth and a great sense of humor. The Shack is a truly great film.

Outstanding Spiritual movie!
||Posted .Once in a while a movie comes along that best illustrates the heart of God. It closely follows the book that its based on, and fleshes the books characters. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are portrayed wonderfully in a way never portrayed in any other film. Sam Worthington plays Mackenzie Allen Philips who's early life and subsequent loss of his daughter, Missy, lead him to have heavy doubt about God, His existence, and if His love is reall. Sam gives a powerful performance, one of his best. Octavia Spenser gives one of her most personal performances as God; as does Graham Green. You must see this film! Its one of the best! I also suggest Risen, Heaven Can Real, Hacksaw Ridge, and Unbroken.

Tear jerker
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Wow! Great Christian movie. This movie will make you cry. Yes, I'm a man and tough guy, but this movie made me ball. Don't be afraid to watch it based on your manliness, lol. You will not regret watching this. I've said on other movies that I only buy movies that I'd watch over again and this is no exception. Watched awhile ago and bought on a great deal. Love it!
