Synopsis

Anne Hathaway is one of the bigger celebrity guests in Season 20, appearing as a kindly girl who wins Bart's heart and inspires him to be a better person. Thankfully, his do-gooder phase doesn't last and there's plenty of Bart acting like his old troublemaker self in other episodes: He switches places with a wealthy look-alike, skips town to avoid a test at school and makes prank calls with Denis Leary's cell phone. Elsewhere, Homer and Ned become bounty hunters, Lisa rescues Maggie from an orphanage and the residents of Springfield build a wall around their community. ~ Jack Rodgers

Ok, I know the show just celebrated its 20th anniversary. I have been watching since December 1989. So, I will get my point across that season 13 was next in line for DVD release. Now, most of us will agree the show has lost a lot of its steam. Just not as good. This season was just watch able. Not outstanding. Decent, not laugh riots. It is 100% true the makers of these DVD packages are NOT reading comments on these DVD releases. Just like season 12 DVD the DVD package is HORRIBLE. Work to open up. DVD's hard to get out once opened. The brochure inside just has list of episodes, information on the DVD's. HEY FOX, HOW ABOUT WRITING SOMETHING ABOUT THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY? Nope, a let down. There is an extra on the 20th. But, nothing in the brochure or back of the DVD. Be careful, the regular DVD package and the blu ray look almost the same so be sure you pick up the right 1.

    WARNING NOT ALL HIGH DEF

I pre-ordered this item because I love the simpsons and although I have a full high def blu ray set up, my cable is still in standard def and I had yet to see a Simpsons episode in HD. Imagine my suprise when I put in disc 1 and IT WAS NOT HIGH DEFINTION. It is not mentioned anywhere in the descriptions on any site but the first disc of the blu ray set is only standard definition. They didn't start making high def episodes until half way through this season so as a result ONLY DISC 2 IS IN HIGH DEFINTION. On top of that there is a serious LACK OF SPECIAL FEATURES. The only good thing I can say is that there is only 2 discs which is much more convient then 4. Save your money and get the regular one. I wish I could get my money back!

    Not my best purchase...

Plainly put...this is the Simpson's, but the feeling I get is that this was rushed out. There are really no special features, extras or audio commentary. Honestly...if I had known this I would not have purchased it. I will say that the second half of the season in HD is pretty cool...but still not worth the frustration of no special features and extras.

If you're reading this you probably like or even love the Simpsons already, so I will not waste your time with a description. It is amazing that Matt and crew can keep the show fresh and up to date after an amazing 20 years. If you are like me and own seasons 1-12 (and waiting for 13-19), you will absolutely enjoy season 20.

I have been watching the Simpsons for 24 years. I have seen tv shows come and go but the Simpsons have held so long because of the good messages (if you see them). A wholesome family that is always there for each other, that is what family is all about. Loyal, and fun.

I'm a huge fan of the early years of The Simpsons. My kids have become big fans too, but they prefer the newer episodes. It's nice to be able to bond with them over such a great show, but they don't make them like they used to!

Season 20 of The Simpsons is one of the best seasons of the series. Some of the funniest episodes ever are on this season. This show really gets better as it gets older. Of all the seasons on DVD so far this one is probably my favorite.

The 20th season of The Simpson's came out on DVD. It was weird because season 13 was the last one released. This also was the first season with the new opening credits and the first that has shows in High Def. Highly Recommended.
