    Synopsis

Surprisingly, the characters of Patty and Selma Bouvier (Marge's grumpy, chain-smoking sisters) are the focus of two of Season 16's most-notable installments. In "There's Something About Marrying," Springfield legalizes same-sex marriage, which prompts Patty to finally come out of the closet (the episode was promoted with the teaser that one of show's characters would be revealed as gay). And in "Goo Goo Gai Pan," the Simpsons travel to China with Selma, who wants to adopt an orphan. The family, of course, also get into wacky antics that don't involve hot-button issues: Bart becomes a T-shirt designer, Homer teaches sports mascots how to dance and Marge enters a cooking contest. ~ Jack Rodgers

Simpsons season 16 is packaged well, has fun menus, and actually looks really good on bluray. While it's true that the cartoon didn't switch to HD until after the Simpsons movie, these last few seasons on bluray have looked a bit better than the DVD's. Not sure if they upscale it, or it just has less artifacting, but they look really clean. And, the packaging is better than the DVD packaging. And, of course, the content is awesome.

This was definitely a great but my family loves the Simpsons! I would recommend to FOX to add a feature to where if you stop on a video the next day you sit down and watch it you can resume play all instead of having to either hit play all and skip to the show you want to watch or play them individually. But the quality is great and I look forward to owning the whole collection soon.

Reasonable price Blu Ray disc, I got it on sale in store, however ever since the purchase I have seen it dropped in price. The quality is good, definitely looks better on blu ray than on DVD however, the episodes are all formatted 3:4 ratio (standard definition) with exception of an extra episode I believe. Works great, so i'm quite happy this is added to my collection.

The 16th season is the newest season to be released on DVD. I am a lover of the Simpsons and prefer the earlier seasons. Its right around season 14 that I feel the series goes down hill. Fortunately in season 16 the side splitting humor seems to pick back up again. The tree house of horror is especially great on this season.

If you are a fan of The Simpsons, I would suggest adding this to your collection. I was able to get this at Best Buy at a great price. I have purchased the other Simpsons DVD releases when they were on sale during the first week of release. I was late for this season, but I got an even better price by waiting.

To put it simply: if you're like me and you've been collecting these DVD seasons for more than 12-13 years now, this season is exactly what you've come to expect from The Simpsons and Co. Same standard packaging, No surprises; safe, familiar, and it's one step closer to bridging the gap to the Season 20 set.

You can never go wrong with the Simpsons. If your a fan, you will love this. If you are not, you probably won't. If you are a casual observer, there are plenty of classic moments and hilarious episodes that you will at least smile and laugh, if not convert to a Simpsons fan.

Well if you must get a Dvd of laugh out loud hijinks get this one too. Professor Frink is on the cover. The type assist program actually changed Frink to trinket like 5 times. Homer wouldn't stand for that kind of nonsense and neither will I. Buy the @#$& Dvd already, will ya? !
