    Synopsis

    The Smurfs
Scooby-Doo director Raja Gosnell takes the helm for this 3D live action/CGI comedy based on the popular characters created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo (aka Pierre Culliford). In their race to escape the malevolent wizard Gargamel, the little blue forest dwellers find themselves suddenly transported to Central Park. Now stuck in a world populated by towering giants, the Smurfs must find a way to elude Gargamel, and find a way back to the village they call home. Paul Reubens provides the voice of "Jokey" Smurf in a film also featuring Hank Azaria, George Lopez, Fred Armisen, Anton Yelchin, Sofía Vergara, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Winters, and Katy Perry. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I just don't understand why they felt compelled to make the "Real World" transition with The Smurfs. Garfield and The Chipmunks could get away with it because the cartoons actually took place among humans. If the whole movie had taken place in the Smurf Village, I would have given it 5 stars and it would have offered more and better 3D moments. The film does feature a nice handful of In-Your-Face effects though. Film Experience: 3 of 5 3D Experience: 3 of 5

The movie is very fun to watch, and has a smurfy and friendly ring to it. It has good morals, and teaches what is important in life. This movie also returns people to their childhood, I am 18 and I used to see the smurfs on tv, and my dad used to watch them every Saturday morning, I recommend this movie to parents and people looking for a fun happy film. Go smurfs, looking forward to a sequel

The movie itself is suitable for children. Nevertheless I liked it when I went to see it in theaters and so I decided to buy the bluray 3D. I must say the video quality is great, the colors really do pop out a lot and the quality of the smurfvillage in the beginning is magnificent.

I love this movie! The live action and voice actors are all great in their roles. I also have to say that Hank Azaria was born to play Gargamel. He's sinister and revolting, but he's also extremely hilarious! The animation is really good too. Excellent, funny movie for all ages! Lots of fun. Highly recommended.

Who doesn't like a good cartoon every now and then! It's amazing what they can do with animation! Growing up with a small screen and just black and white tv's, This is a breath of fresh air. Mostly aimed at the younger ages, although I enjoyed it also as a adult.

This movie was great in 3D! For this film not to be all animation the quality for 3d was fantastic. The movie its self was decent. I watched it with my 12 and 5 year old. Im sure my children would give the film a 5 but I'll say this film would be given a 3-4 out of a 5 star rating.

I brought this as one of my son's x-mas present along with others, e.g. Cars 2 and Yogi Bear. He was excited and watched it over and over during his holiday vacation. From the parts that I watched, it maintained the same familiarity as with the smurfs from my day.

Movie is entertaining enough for my daughter at least for the few times she watched it. Not as as attention getting as other kids movies but can't complain. Audio and video quality is great as expected for Blu-ray.
