Season 3 of the Strain brings the series to its peak in mounting horror of the Strigoi parasite vampire invasion, with Quinlan, the Blade like hero, rising up to assist the battered team of dwindling survivors led by Setrakian, Eph and Fet. Eichhorst returns as the sinister and charismatic right hand man to the Master vampire, who is intent on wiping out humanity with his infectious worms. Eldridge, the rich business man and leader of Stone Heart, develops even further this season as a villain, and the ending episodes of this 10 episode season need to be seen for any fan of this series. While the characters don't always make the wisest of choices, there's more action, more compact story telling and more excitement in season 3 of the Strain.

I absolutely love The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro. I have read all the comic books and am so glad they made it into a TV show. Unfortunately its now over after 4 seasons and 20th Century Fox refused to release it on Blu-Ray as well as Season 4 which is coming out next week only on DVD due to a ratings plunge apparently. I think Season three is better than 2 but not Season 1. All your favorite characters are back, as new deals and alliances are formed, old friendships are broken, there are deaths and hardships. The end of the season is left with a definite cliffhanger. As the master keeps escaping. Very good show. Check it out.

Season 1 was fascinating and suspenseful, back when the main characters were not exactly sure about what was happening to the world around them. There was some mystery involved. Much of the impending horror of what could happen next was left to the viewers' own imagination, which is what made it worthwhile. Unfortunately as time passed, the writers decided to ramp up this good vampire-bad vampire undercurrent/ backstory that is not necessary, and plays as silly as a Saturday Night Live skit.

I've been collecting this show from the start and won't stop now. Still, I'm very disappointed that this season they stopped releasing it on bluray (I have both seasons 1&2 on bluray), but now they have stopped that format. If I had known then I wouldn't have invested in the bluray format from the start. Same thing happened with the series TURN: WASHINGTON SPIES, only I stopped following that one completely when they dropped the bluray format after season one.

These suckers (haha) are not only revolting, they are also downright scary. The series has some excellent battle scenes between the humans and the vampire hoard, but the viewer is also drawn into the personal struggles of the heroes and heroines. Like The Walking Dead, you wind up pondering how you (and yours) would handle such an invasion of the undead.

Engaging story about non-traditional vampires. This series tells an actual story rather than a random collection of unrelated episodes. The story is completed in season five. Based on a series of novels by Guillermo del Toro of "Pacific Rim" and "The Shape of Water" fame.

Just watched Season 3 of The Strain after it was delivered and it was the best season so far!!! Definitely higher stakes ( maybe a little pun intended ) and character development. Can't wait for Season 4 to be released in December 2017.

I’m glad Best Buy had this season 3 DVD in stock and on sale but the only thing I don’t like is that the Blu Ray version was not available. The store was not out of the Blu Ray version just did not offer it
