Synopsis

The Transporter
An outlaw finds his life becoming all the more dangerous when he turns against a gang of criminals in this action drama. Frank Martin (Jason Statham) is a former Special Forces officer who lives on the French Mediterranean and has a lucrative second career as a underworld courier for hire. Martin will deliver anything anywhere, but he has three iron-clad rules - once the plan is in motion it cannot be changed, neither he nor his customers are to ever use their real names, and under no circumstances will he open the package. Martin is hired to make a delivery to a wealthy but unscrupulous American known as Wall Street (Matt Schulze), but after taking possession of the package he realizes that whatever is inside happens to be alive. Breaking his own rule, Martin opens the bag to discover a beautiful Asian woman, Lai (Shu Qi), who is bound and gagged. Lai briefly escapes, but Martin captures her, and delivers her to Wall Street as promised. However, after being given a parcel to deliver by Wall Street, Martin finds out what Wall Street is up to - in partnership with Lai's father Mr. Kwai (Ric Young), Wall Street is part of a scheme to smuggle Asian illegal aliens into France. Martin's conscience gets the better of him, and he sets out to rescue Lai and put Wall Street and Mr. Kwai out of business; however, as if this wasn't enough of a challenge, Martin discovers a French detective, Tarconi (Francois Berleand) has gotten wind of his illegal business. The Transporter was the first English-language feature for Hong Kong-based director Corey Yuen, who along with directing a number of HK action flicks designed fight choreography for several American films. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Transporter is a high action movies involving an ex-Special forces soldier who earns his living transporting "packages" for various clients, mostly shady. In this movie, the transporter ( Jason Stratham )violates his own rules ( he's real big on rules ) and looks inside the package, doesn't like what he sees and doesn't complete the delivery. Bad idea, now the client is after him, along with the police. The movie is set in the French countryside so if you don't enjoy the thrill-a-minute action, just enjoy the view. Highly recommended for fans of Jason Stratham , James Bond movies, and high action movies, especially car chases.

I like the Transporter series and the first one was always the best for me. I thought the later versions got filled with more and more BS. Don't get me wrong - I suspend reality when I watch a move - it's about enjoyment right? This one though I liked a lot since Jason Statham was still a bit obscure when it came out and boy does he deliver on action. Some of the action in this movie was pretty original and again even though some a little far fetched definitely a lot of fun. The Blu Ray really brings out the picture and it really is great along with the sound. Buy it you won't be disappointed!

This is the very first Jason Statham movie I ever saw. He is a good actor for action movies. He does a decent job acting also. I liked The Transporter because of his smooth demeanor and life of rules to live by. He tries not to break his rules but sometimes his heart want let him abide by them. The movie is full of action and if you love to watch movies in surround sound like I do then this is a great movie to watch for that reason too. The Blu-ray sound format format for this movie is DTS and sounds great. The video is also great. This is a movie any action junky would enjoy. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

The original is still the best. Yes, Shu Qi might not be the world's greatest thespian, but she's more than adequate in the role and Jason Statham does the rest in the film that really launched his career as an action star. The films that have come since pale in comparison to the original. The Blu-Ray is worth getting. Yes, it's a popcorn film, but everyone needs a good enjoyable popcorn flick once in a while. And it's not plenty of action and stunts to sate the appetite of the most ardent action fan.

Jason Statham is quietly becoming THE action star for this decade, much like Bruce Willis and Tom Cruise were, or Will Smith is, only without the hype and fanfare. "The Transporter" is non-stop action from another cool character that makes you want to know more about what makes him tick. The Blu-Ray adds to the enjoyment with brilliant colors and great scenery. Add the great sound, and what's not to love. Can't wait to watch Transporter 2.

This film is awesome from the very first scene, if your a fan of Gone in Sixty Seconds, or Fast and Furious, Then you will enjoy this movie in the car sequences. If you are a Martial Arts fan then this movie will satisfy your thrust for insane fight scenes and original sequences, Jason Statham is a great actor and does his own stunts which adds to the believability to this film. Well worth $9.99, pick it up enjoy the show.

Among Jason Statham's better movies. He's a transporter, no matter what it is or where the person wants it taken, he does it with no questions and he never looks in the package. Until now, and it leads to his undoing. No, it's not some complex, highly involved story that will mess with your mind. It's simply a great action movie with plenty of cool sequences that you'll want to re-watch.
