This gothic horror film written and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos is based on the novel Shrine by James Herbert. It follows the supernatural abilities of a young girl named Alice (Cricket Brown) who despite previously having various impairments is now able to speak, hear and cure the sick thanks to an alleged visit from the Virgin Mary. Keen to cover the story and get his career back on track, journalist Gerry Fenn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) starts to investigate; but it isn’t long before things begin to unravel as a more sinister truth starts to emerge. Cary Elwes and Katie Aselton co-star.~Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
The Unholy a good horror film based of Mary mother of God or is it. A spooky story and some jump scares makes it a watch for any horror fan. Not a full blown scar fest but a few and good story hooked me into this one.
I enjoyed this movie. It isn't super scary and relies on a few jump scares, but not too bad. Overall, if horror movies are your thing, or just looking for something different, you can't go wrong with this one.
If you love Jeffery Dean Morgan and a great horror movie you will be thrilled with this movie. it has what I call the jump factor, a great horror film should always make you jump and often. This movie also has the sexy leading man hero in Jeffery Dean Morgan so what else is there to say....I love it!
