mature action rpg that stands out among rpg's
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Witcher 2 is a fantastic game. What is excellent: graphics and combat animations difficult gameplay that keeps you on your toes--even basic creatures can still kill you late in game if you start getting sloppy and think you'll just overpower them. In addition, there are a lot of different styles to combat that you can use, keeping it fun and fresh story is great, and how it is affected by your choices as well. you are on one side or another for the entire second act of the game depending on your choices. related to this, the game should have good replayability because you will want to see what other choices would have yielded What is not perfect: it is tedious not having some sort of fast travel option. if you are at the far end of the woods looking for herbs or monsters, you will have to run all the way back. on a related note, sometimes picking some herbs, talking to the right person, etc. is difficult. and the doors and climbing ledges can get tiresome. audio--voice work, sound effects, and music are all great, but somehow the sound mixing is a little off because the Witcher is often hard to hear clearly while everything else is loud. I set sound effects and music to a middle level, and kept dialogue at max to help with this. On the whole, this is a great game. A real changeup from rpg games like Dragon Age, Oblivion, Skyrim, etc....it isn't as open world, and you will always be on your toes in combat because you can quickly be overwhelmed if surrounded, but I like that. It is nice to feel tension at each combat, instead of thinking "now I have to waste 2 minutes killing these things." Be warned, mature means mature here.

Great for the RPG fan.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game if you are an RPG fan. It has a great story (for adults only), the choices you make really have an effect that ripples through the game. It has a great world to explore, though it's not a true open world game, more like half open world. It has quite a few issues at a fundamental level. The fighting mechanics and navigation need serious refinement. It reminds me a lot of the original Mass Effect in that way. It's not a game for everyone and as frustrating as it can be at times it's still a memorable game worth playing.

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was an amazing game to play on the pc and the developers found a way to bring everything to the xbox 360. While the game looks great and the basic attack weapons are easy, its where everything else comes in that makes it harder to navigate through. things such as mixing items and a specific action is allowed when pressing and holding other buttons/bumper triggers. that by itself is not a reason to be skeptical about this game. the story is interesting enough to keep you hooked on till the end. a must buy for 360 users.

Good graphics and story line

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this game is a lot of fun. I'm new to the Witcher franchise, but I like what I see. The storyline is engrossing and the game is challenging--not just for me but for my 17-year-old son too. I include this because he's a more dexterous button masher than I am. The drawback to this game is that the controls take a while to get used to, and in some instances seem down right strange.

Awesome Game One of the Best this Gen.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this game. It really stood out. Played the first one but never finished. I don't get enough time on my PC because of 3 teens. I was suprised to see how well this one compared. Love the open world gameplay. Great Dialogue throughout. Very Hilarious at Times. I think I have bought this game three times I have like it so much. Really a standout experience. Will play though again, something I never do.
