    Synopsis

    The World Is Not Enough
James Bond, the world's greatest secret agent, is sent once more into the breach in the name of Queen, Country, and a dry martini. In the 19th Bond adventure, 007 (Pierce Brosnan) must resolve a potentially deadly power struggle between two unstable nations, with control of the world's oil supply as the ultimate prize. Bond is assigned as bodyguard to Elektra King (Sophie Marceau), the daughter of a petroleum magnate who was brutally murdered, and is trying to foil the fiendish plot of Renard (Robert Carlyle), a villain who was shot in the head with an unusual result: he cannot feel physical pain, an apparent failing that proves to be a considerable asset. Denise Richards appears as Dr. Christmas Jones, an expert on nuclear weapons, alongside Desmond Llewelyn as Q, Judi Dench as M, Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny, and John Cleese as R. Alternative rock band Garbage performs the theme song. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

The weakest of the Brosnan Bond movies.

I have always felt this was the weakest entry of the Brosnan Bond's. Denise Richards is completely miscast and is basically there for eye candy only. I do like how they made a woman the chief villain in this movie ,and really did not need to make a chief male protagonist in Rennard. It is a shame this was the last movie with Desmond LLewelyn as "Q". Because he passed away before this movie came out. However his parting scene were is goes down in the pool table was somehow fitting. I would of loved to seen John Cleese as Q in more Bond movies. However he only did that part one more time in the next movie. If you like Bond I recommend this movie. However if not a Bond fan I would say there are better Brosnan Bond titles out there

Feels like a hybrid of earlier Bond films.

Brosnan has slipped quite comfortably into the role of Bond by this third film, arming himself with sly quips and killer reflexes -- not to mention a pretty high tolerance for throwing himself off of buildings and ledges. While I don't buy Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist for a minute (or her horrible name), Sophie Marceau isn't a particularly menacing villain either. To make matters worse, M (now played by Judi Dench) is kidnapped for no real reason other than to up the stakes a little bit and the charismatic Robert Carlyle is given nothing to do as the impervious Renard.

      Exciting Bond adventure from 1999

Great Bond flick with high budget and lots of action in the first ten minutes. A remake of all the others. A proven formula for a profitable film. Brosnan plays a great Bond. Pretty girls abound. Todays projects may have more computer animation, and may seem smoother, but the stunts from 1998 were very well presented, and seemed possible. The race boat on the street was a bit of a stretch of the imagination, but the scenes were cohesive. It seems they must have had fun filming the project.

      Worst Bond Ever

This is Pierce Brosnan's worst Bond film, and probably the worst of the series. It has a horrible villain and horrible Bond Girl (although Sophie Marceau is a great actress), and it has a new Moneypenny, who ruined the characters reputation. However, tis film still has some good to it. It has Judi Dench and Desmond Llewelyn in the MI6 roles, and also has Denise Richards as a great Bond girl. It may be the worst Bond movie, but it is still a need-to-buy movie.

Pierce Brosnan returns for his 3rd run as James Bond, 007 in this action adventure, spy drama, where he protects a billionaire heiress from a ruthless villain (Renard), who is bent on world domination of petroleum by the threat of nuclear destruction. The World Is Not Enough is a likeable addition to the genre!

We've been picking up bargain Blu-Rays waiting for 4K content and find that Best Buy has a great inventory, well organized and competitively priced. This Blu-ray was part of putting together a complete Bond collection-we're not finding inventory and in stock position like this anywhere else.

This film abounds with complexities that were somehow overshadowed by the hype that surrounded it. It is another good Bond film. All that being said, Pierce Brosnan really has the part of James Bond down to an art and science in a rather ethereal fashion.

This is definitly the best of the new bond films. Pierce Brosnan is aproaching Connery like proportions with this film. If youre into bond films, heck, even if your'e not, this is a must see. Plus, the special features on the DVD are great
