They Don't Cut the Grass Anymore [DVD] [1985]

Garden-tool-wielding hillbillies go on a yuppie-killing rampage in the third film from director Nathan Schiff. After languishing for years in bootleg-land for decades, They Don't Cut the Grass Anymore finally gets a proper release as part of Image Entertainment's Cult Cinema Collection DVD series. The low-budget, high-body-count horror flick is presented in all of its sick and twisted glory on this disc, featuring a full-screen transfer of the film and soundtrack remastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Additionally, fans are treated to several supplemental features, including a feature-length audio-commentary track by Schiff and others involved in the production. Better still, three short films by Schiff, Attack of the Giant Turtle, Cocktails at Midnight, and The Strain and Dirty Scales, have been dusted off for the release. Last but not least, a trailer and interviews with stars John Smihula and Fred Borges round out the bonuses.

Synopsis

They Don't Cut the Grass Anymore
They Don't Cut the Grass Anymore is the third film from gore master Nathan Schiff, the cult filmmaker behind Weasels Rip My Flesh and Long Island Cannibal Massacre. Actor John Smihula teams with Schiff once again, this time playing half of a pair of hillbillies who get fed up with the newfangled ways of Northern city slickers. With their gardening tools in hand, the bloodthirsty Texans cross the Mason-Dixon line and gruesomely murder every yuppie they can find. Adam Berke and Mary Spadaro also star. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
