It's great, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....if only I could turn off that dang voice that insists on telling me all kinds of stuff that really doesn't matter, each and every time, I start up or turn off the car. The installation was done quickly and professionally, but I can't say that I'm wild about the wiring harness being twelve feet long. All that extra cord (which cannot be cut) had to be jammed up above the lining, behind the visor, on the right side. It bulges just enough that it annoys me. All that being said, the camera works perfectly: both front and back recordings are crystal clear, and I discovered that it also picks up any and all conversations, music, etc happening inside the car.

Finally found the one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device is nothing short of greatness. The Wi-Fi capability makes the ease of this unit unmatched. The quality of both Day & night video is clear and crisp and the clarity is perfect. I like the availability of the driver warnings for lane departure, forward collision is nice, though I personally choose to turn them off (Satisfied that the "off" option is available for the warnings). I have not caught any incidents, though the closest call was right at dusk, driving into the sun; I was able to "Clearly" see the signal light change from Green-Yellow, and finally to Red as well as I could "Clearly" see each vehicles make-model-color, and I'm sure it I put it on a bigger monitor, even the license plate. I am very into video clarity and this unit is spot on. I would and do recommend this unit for anyone looking for a unit that is reasonably priced, compact, low-profile, and the Wi-Fi availability to see live view, review local on-site recordings and to download straight to a mobile device, the videos you choose, as well as saves onto the extra partition memory in the unit+MicroSD.

Easy to Set Up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did quite a bit of research on these prior to buying. If you are looking for something that is easy to get your hands on versus via Amazon or China, it's nice Best Buy is offering them for sale. I also have a Magellan GPS device that also records video that I purchased from BB, so I can compare those. Video quality, the F750 is far better. I don't think BB will allow me to embed a video here, but I will post a link to a private You Tube video I uploaded so you can see. I haven't tried this at night, but all dash cams tend to struggle with quality video at night. Audio, both are just fine. This has a WiFi access that the Magellan does not. At first it was finicky about connecting, but no problems since. The interface is less then what you would get on your PC Viewer, which both have, but if you need video to show, the WiFi will handle it. I purchased this along with the Hardwire kit, which was easy enough. Powers on when the ACC is on and enters parking mode when car is turned off. I tested the sensitivity and it works. However, if someone does hit your car on the side, unless they walk into view of the camera, you won't see them. There is a slight hum during video playback. Some research shows this may be due to some interference with the GPS, TPMS, OnStar, XMSirius that I already have in the car so a different direction of wiring may be needed. Overall it's a gadget, albeit a pricier one, but could be very useful in the event of an accident. Best Buy also offers these cheaper then what you can find them on Amazon now, possibly since they are fairly new in the stores. The picture attached for some reason does not show the video (Windows 10, I dunno), but the link to the video shows you what you would see. The picture shows you the framework for the PC Viewing Screen. The video is here https://youtu.be/Efga4ZLnHuc

Great camera with Great value and potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is exactly what I was looking for. It is not cheap, however the potential behind this camera is worth the cost. While I have not added on the additional rear-camera or hardwired kit for parking monitoring features, I have used this with the enclosed windshield mount with 3M tape. The resolution during the day is excellent. The automatic adjustments in the camera prevent white-out from the sun, even when driving into the sunset. The night time recording is very decent as well. While obviously there is less light, it still records well enough to see a dog just outside of range of the head lights. When other vehicles pass you, the camera does not reduce the quality of the video to see the "light" better like other cameras have in the past. Observations: In the recording you have the following overlay at the bottom of the screen "THINKWARE F750 (version) (Voltage) (GPS Date/time)" Your GPS speed is not visible in the video. If you were involved in an accident, this means in order to provide speed information with the recording you would either A: create an exact copy of your Micro SD card and keep the copy, giving law enforcement the original, or B: Give investigators your camera with Micro SD card for submission to evidence. Speed is a factor of every accident, and showing non-reckless driving can certainly prevent unnecessary time in civil court should it get to that point. GPS: I have not yet found a way to view the GPS information in raw format. The GPS appears accurate at most times, however when it is cold first thing in the morning, the GPS appears to be off by about 15 feet or so, showing your "trail" in the ditch or field along the roadway. Once it gets warm, using the "satellite" view on the map display, you can clearly see what lane you were in. Note: If you want a dash-cam with a live view while your in the vehicle, and able to see what you are recording, this is not the camera for you. This camera is for those that want that extra witness with out the distraction of glare from a screen or wondering if something is "in view" taking your attention for the roadway. There is "Rec" (record) button on the camera that you can press to save a 60 second segment. This is handy for those events that may not have been detected by the gyro. About the Lane Departure warning, This does vary with vehicle. If you are in a car, you want to set the vehicle to "Sedan", or for a SUV set it to "SUV". Otherwise the detection goes off like crazy.

Best Dash Cam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my desire was to be able to get a device that could record all of the occurrences that happen daily here in San Francisco when we traverse from one point to the other! I knew nothing about dash cameras and no one I know actually has such a device in their own vehicles! But I felt very strongly that I wanted to start to document how badly and rudely people are driving in San Francisco these days! The device is amazing and aside from Lane departure Warning Systems, forward Collision Warning Systems and the fact that it has an internal GPS it also has something most people would like, it alerts you to safety camera alerts, red light camera alert, speed camera alert, combined red light and speed camera alert, average speed zone alert, mobile speed zone alert. This is an amazing product and well worth every dollar I spent at Best Buy! You need to look no further than this particular manufacturer. I love the design it's very inconspicuous it fit right underneath my rearview mirror and for the most part blends in! I did purchase the hard wiring kit but I am currently using the plug-in cable! I also love the fact that you have Wi-Fi so you can actually see your recordings when you stop to look at something! It is connected to your smartphone! I also purchased the biggest memory card to replace the one this one comes with which is pretty minimal memory.

Great camera with useless features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera records great quality video, and the system for protecting important video seems like it's clever enough to work well. The camera is always recording and writing over old recordings. If the G-force sensors detect a collision, the video recorded immediately surrounding the time of the collision will be protected from being overwritten by future recordings. I haven't been in an accident, so I can't speak to its functionality in practice. The additional features, presumably the reason for the ridiculously high price tag, are useless. The camera includes alarms to alert the driver when the vehicle is exiting the lane, approaching another vehicle, or approaching a traffic camera. 1. The literature doesn't explain the difference in the alarms, so when a beep happens, the driver can't be sure which alarm is happening. 2. Even at the lowest sensitivities, the alarms are never ending. 3. Every time that the camera is powered on, there is a female voice telling the people in the car that the camera is active and that the GPS is connected. Even at the lowest volume, the announcements are too loud. There is no option to disable the announcements (they're incredibly annoying). Therefore, the only way to get rid of them is to turn the volume off, which negates any small advantages that the driver might get from the other alerts. 4. Updating the locations of the speed cameras cannot be done through the app while connected to the camera via WiFi. It's a clunky process of downloading and manipulating an update file onto the microSD card. 5. I purchased a larger replacement microSD card with all of the appropriate specifications according to Thinkware, but the camera doesn't support it for some unknown reason. Support was fast to suggest that I purchase a $50 32 GB card from them, an absurdly priced piece of flash memory. Overall, this is a good dashcam with an insane price that hopes to be justified by including poorly implemented features.

Great features and quality. Near-proprietary uSD.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great hardware and video quality. Really nice feature set. Like how it attaches to the windshield with tape rather than suction. iOS app is full-featured but a tad buggy and some non-English text. My only complaint is that the microSD cards are semi-proprietary. You can't just drop any relatively high-speed card into it to upgrade the storage, and their Thinkware-branded cards are over priced and hard to find. Otherwise, a great product if used as-is.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera serves my purpose. Easy setup. I purchased the hardwiring cable to take advantage of the parking recording mode. The video quality is good but not great compared to my Sony Action Cam where it can clearly capture license plates even when driving at 75MPH. Another problem i have is the audio, it doesn't do well if the windows are open, it does captures audio great when the windows are close. The extra features (Lane departure and Forward collision) are great addition but it gets annoying so i turned it off. Some users complain about not being able to use other brand Micro Sd card, I didn't have that problem. Purchased a 128Gb PNY Micro SD card and have no issues.

Q: QuestionThe Best Buy specs do not mention sound recording or GPS. I saw in the reviews that it might ave GPS, does it for sure have GPS and sound?
Asked by Jonsypa.
- A:Answer It has GPS but to see the GPS route you have to use the PC preview software that comes with the camera. Supports Windows and Mac. I used the Mac version and it was easy and clear. I am not a lawyer, but I believe this would stand up in court. It has a very good microphone for sound. You will hear your voice crystal clear. You can turn the microphone off easily.

Q: QuestionCan Bestbuy hardwire this to the battery without cutting or splicing any cables? Can Bestbuy hardwire this to the battery without cutting or splicing any cables?
Asked by mcmutlu.
- A:Answer Hi there, To hardwire your Thinkware dash cam, the Thinkware hardwiring cable (TWA-SH) must be used. With the proper cable, splicing and cutting will not be necessary. Please contact your local Best Buy directly to see if they are able to provide hardwiring installation services for you. Thinkware Customer Support

Q: QuestionON its self powered batteries and 16g card, how long will it record? How long will it record on a 16g or 32g memory card? How long will it continuously record on new batteries?
Asked by billjustbill.
- A:Answer Hi there, Thinkware dash cams do not have batteries! It uses a Supercapacitor, which is a more reliable alternative against extreme temperatures. A 16 GB card will store approximately 248 minutes while a 32GB card will store double the storage at 496 minutes if you only have the front dash cam installed. The storage time will be halved if you have the rear-view camera installed as well because the rear-view camera footage is stored on the same memory card. However, please note that the dash cam will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when the memory card is full so the dash cam will always be recording. Q: Questionaccording to the manual there is an ssid so it must be broadcasting. I know you have to push button on camera to connect to phone but is there any way someone else can connect to the camera while the Wi-Fi is on? or can only one phone connect at a time?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Camera has an SSID associated with the camera. When you setup the camera, you will have an option to change the SSID and password. Just like any other WiFi, if you know the SSID and Password, you will be able to connect to it.

Q: QuestionDoes it record or overlay your actual speed with the video?
Asked by Nick.
- A:Answer It does stamp information onto the bottom of the video, but vehicle speed is not included (see pictures). To get information on vehicle speed you have to view the footage in the viewer software on a computer.
