Threads is a bleak and realistic view into the aftermath of nuclear war. (Apparently the most realistic one ever.) The film is a docu-drama, offering a mix of grounded drama and frightening facts. It's possibly the best apocalypse movie ever made. A must see for the film's historical importance alone.

For anyone who has seen any nuclear apocalypse movies (i.e. the Day After, Twilight's Last Gleaming, Testament, etc...), this is a MUST see. It paints a realistic portrait of a real nuclear war and the aftermath. It is set in England, home of thee "stiff upper lip, proper leadership, etc..), and shows despite all the planning in the world, all cards are off the table if the "mine is bigger and it works" button is pushed. It goes beyond the immediate aftermath to show how the world will devolve into utter chaos and anarchy of open street warfare between neighbors. It goes far into the future to show there is no real recovery from such actions. It is very graphic because something as serious as this needs to be shown. It dis-spells the "duck and cover" mentality that seems to be flaunted in today's "leadership". It should be a wake up call to the world that this is not a game to show who has the bigger button. It is a message to keep in mind when threatening to destroy Korea and the fallout that will spread worldwide.
