Timeline: 1938
The Timeline series presents newsreels, audio recordings, radio shows, and lists in order to display the historic events that transpired during the given year. The 1938 edition contains performances of "Begin the Beguine" and "Sweet Adelaide", as well as a speech by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain announcing that there is peace in Europe, and reports on Hitler's invasion of Czechoslovakia. A Mercury Theater presentation of The 39 Steps rounds out this entertaining trip down memory lane. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
