Why did I wait so long
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Life changed. I have a dog that sheds as well as a newborn. Dirty paws, hair and spilled milk are no match for the S5 Extreme. It looks, feels and acts professional. Bye bye mop and bucket. I love the self clean feature and the accessories that come with to provide a seamless experience. Very satisfying to see the dirty water tank empty (and a little unsettling...). Will be back for more Tineco appliances.

Excellent Cleaner And Amazing Time Saver
|Posted .OK, this thing is a BEAST! We have a larger house with 2 adults, 2 late-teenagers, 2 goofy dogs and 2 snooty cars. Just shy of 5700 square feet. There is about 2700 sq ft on main level, of which about 1300 is hard flooring. The second floor is about 1500 sq ft, but only 2 bedrooms (14x15 each) and 2 bathrooms are hard flooring with the rest being carpet. The basement is also about 1500 sq ft, of which about 1000 sq ft is hard finished flooring (the rest is concrete for HVAC/storage). We have a large area of hard flooring to cover. The Tineco Floor One S5 is a HUGE timesaver AND does an excellent job at cleaning. In the box was the Floor One S5, the handle, a charging/storage cradle, power cord, 2 additional brush-heads, a cleaning brush, basic assembly/care/use instructions, an extra dry filter and bottle of Tineco solution. One important note: it says to ONLY use Tineco cleaning solution. Is this a marketing thing to make sure you always buy Tineco? I don't know, but it's relatively inexpensive and it only requires one cap-full per cleaning, so I am not going to try my luck by using another brand. Just a note for reference! Out of the box, assembly was simple. Attach the handle, plug in the charging/storage cradle, pop the Floor One on the cradle and let it charge. From opening box to ready to charge was sub-5 minutes. It came right at 38% charged but I wanted to have it fully charged for first use. We ran a couple hours of errands, and it was fully charged when we returned. In the past, we had to use our stick vacuum first to get off loose debris, pet-hair, the mindless candy wrapper left from a 17-year-old in a hurry or any other every-day living stuff. On the main floor, this would take a solid 10 minutes. After that, we would either use a wet Swiffer wet pad, or for deep cleanings, the old fashion mop 'n bucket. This process was not only labor intensive, but also time intensive. The Floor One S5 cut the time and labor in more than half. Greatly improved! First use, I filled up the fresh tank with hot tap water, added the one cap-full of solution and was ready to go. My first impression was how light weight and maneuverable the unit is. Often, it's easy to assume lightweight might mean frail or flimsy. This is not the case with this unit. It has a quality feel, design, and feedback to it. I was impressed. For size comparison, that is a 65" TV in the picture with the Floor One and its box. I powered it on and kept it in "Auto" mode. Another surprise: The device is self-propelled. You turn it on, lean the handle back and it starts moving forward. The device laid an even layer of water and quickly sucked up the excess. The floors were dry in a very short period. The "iLoop" sensor changed the water and power distribution multiple times. This was easy to track as the 2.5" LCD display changes from BLUE [clean] to RED [dirty]. I will say this is kind of a cool feature. I was skeptical about the efficacy of the iLoop sensor at first but after seeing the end-result, I must admit that there might be some substance behind it. In addition to the iLoop dirty/clean display, the LCD prominently shows the battery level, mode, and other feedback mechanisms. I'm a digital kind of guy, so I think that's pretty cool. The device is pre-set to provide voice feedback. Things like charging, whether it needs cleaned, when tanks need emptying or filled etcetera. I think that's kind'a a cool feature, but it's simple to turn off if it bothers you. You can either use the app [more on that later] to turn it on and off or by pressing the "WiFI" button a couple times, you can toggle on or off. In all, if you are techy guy or gal, I think you'll love this. If you are not, you will still appreciate the feedback that is given you via the voice and LCD display. I had to fill the clean tank 3 times and empty the dirty tank 3 times. I imagine some might consider this to be excessive but knowing that I have a large area on my main floor, I am perfectly ok with it. Given the clean it provided, well worth it. Once I was done, clean-up was simple. Empty the dirty water tank, clear the debris, if necessary, use the brush to clean the tubes... Now this part sounds counter-intuitive, but it makes sense. Fill up your CLEAN tank [it will remind you] with fresh water and solution. The Floor One S5 uses the fresh water to clean itself. I placed the unit on the charger, and it automatically runs "diagnostics" on itself to determine if cleaning is required. Given the footprint of our house, it did determine a self-cleaning was required. It took a few minutes, but it told you what the status was. Very cool. One important note: Watching the battery percentage counter count down may at first be alarming, but I easily did my first floor and had 35% charge when I was done. Don't worry, you should have plenty of time to do MOST home cleanings. Also remember that the battery is doing a lot of stuff between the roller, the suction, the water distribution, the "brains" and the display. Just remember, don't be alarmed, you should be fine to finish most jobs on a single charge and have battery left. As for the app [again, as a techy] is it cool? Yes. Necessary? No. I mean end of the day, it's a hard surface wet vacuum. Don't get me wrong, I like having it, but it does nothing for the performance of the cleaning. The app gives you status, battery level, charge time, use time etcetera. I'm glad it's there but it's not necessary for you to use the machine. End of the day, this is an excellent choice, even for the price. While price/value ratio is subjective, I would certainly pay for this Tineco Floor One S5 for two reasons. Most important is for the time it saves. It will easily cut your cleaning time by half, if not more. And the second reason is simply for the great cleaning job it does. I would (and have) recommended this to a friend. I was not disappointed, and I don't think you will be if you have the same experience I did.

Time and back saver! The results are in the DWT!
|Posted .Overview: In recent months and years, I’ve seen many automated mopping devices. Some of these devices look like standard stick vacuums while other take the form of an automated robotic device. I never thought to purchase one because I didn’t think they would work so well. How can a device so small, that doesn’t hold much water, get the floors clean? My current method of mopping is an old school mop with a Rubbermaid bucket, kind of like what you see in schools or commercial buildings. I like this method because the mop has some weight to it to give it some elbow grease when I’m mopping and the bucket holds almost 10 gallons of water to rinse the mop in. But first, I have to lug out the central vacuum and vacuum all the space first. As you can imagine, this is time consuming and can get a bit exhausting to carry the heavy bucket filled with water. The promise of a device that vacuums and mops in 1 step is very appealing, still I was skeptical. Setup: The Tineco came with many pieces, but it was packaged very efficiently, all organized and tucked away in different parts of the box. There wasn’t much assembly at all, simply snap in the handle, take out the base and charger and charge for 4-5 hours, as instructed by the manual. It came with many extra parts, 2 brush rollers (a total of 3 comes with the mop) and an extra dry filter. It’s nice that they include these extra parts so you can load a dry one into the mop while the used one is drying. A bottle of Tineco cleaning solution is also included. Per the manual, this is the only soap you’re supposed to use with the device! From searching online, the cleaning solution is slightly acidic, in my basement, I have luxury hardwood vinyl flooring. The manufacturer recommends pH neutral cleaners. I didn’t fret over this too much, as all I’m using to mop is a cap full in the CWT (clean water tank). Results: First I mopped the basement, where my son had some friends over a week ago. It felt a bit dirty, like it was a bit greasy. I vacuumed and mopped approximately 1,100 sq ft. Mostly vinyl hardwood flooring and some rubber flooring in the gym area. It was easy to learn how to use, I kept it on “Auto” mode and left it up to the mop to control the speed. Within 15 minutes, I had vacuumed the entire basement, and I didn’t have to lug the central vacuum hose all the way from the 2nd floor! That itself is a win! When I was done mopping, I opened the dirty water tank and man, it was FILTHY! The water was black, there was hair, dust and other debris in the upper section of the DWT. I didn’t think the basement floor was “that dirty”. Hint: you want to have the S5 perform a self-clean first, before you take out the tanks to clean. Otherwise you’ll end up cleaning the S5 twice (ask me how I know). The 2nd test was to mop the first floor. The tiled floor felt a bit slippery near the stove area, from the grease when cooking. I mopped the kitchen and the entire first floor, as well as most of the 2nd floor, again, the results were excellent! The floor in front of the stove no longer felt slippery, the water in the DWT was black! On a side note, the vacuum is designed very well, it is easy to maneuver with 1 hand and it even picks up the dust that is close to the walls. Cleaning up is fairly straightforward. As mentioned above, the vacuum asked me to perform the self -cleaning. Once it completed, I emptied the DWT and again, the water was very dark and filthy (see attached photos). The S5 did a great job in cleaning the roller, I just had to remove a small clump of hair. Clean all the parts, the roller, the brush roller cover and the DWT. Replace with a dry roller, wipe the base and replace the S5 on the charging base. That’s it. Conclusion: I really like this device, it’s such a time and back saver! The cleaning up of the mop takes a bit more time, when compared to hosing down a mop and bucket, but the overall job is so much easier. I can mop once a week and not feel like it’s a 2 hour project. Batter life is very good. I was able to vacuum both floors of my house on 1 charge, with battery left over. I’m glad I got this S5 vacuum & washer, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight and efficient tool to clean their floors! Pros: 1. One step cleaning 2. Lightweight device 3. Self-cleaning mode does a fairly good job Cons: 1. None cons really to speak of, the section in the manual regarding the “Mode switch” can be more clear. Long press 3s to switch between water only or cleaning solution. I found this confusing because there’s only 1 clean water reservoir, and that’s where you put in the water and the cleaning solution. So if I’m switching between modes, it sounds like I can turn on cleaning solution or turn off, which you obviously can’t.

Works amazingly well for laminate floors!
|Posted .Earlier this year we got rid of all the carpet on the upper level of our house and replaced it all with luxury vinyl plank flooring. We have a nice Dyson vacuum that works great on carpet, but we found that it didn’t work all that great on the hardwood floors. Not to mention we would first have to vacuum the floor and then come back and mop the entire floor. I jumped at the chance to give this a try, and I’m very glad I did! Out of the box you can tell that this is a very well-made product and they include lots of accessories! I got 2 extra rollers and an extra filter which means I wont have to buy any of those for a long time! You also get a big bottle of the cleaning solution. Since you only use a small capful for each tank that will probably last a while too! Putting this together could not have been easier. It’s literally 99% assembled right out of the box. All you really have to do is attach the handle and remove a piece of cardboard from around the roller brush, That’s it! You don’t need any tools or anything like that. After a quick perusal through the manual, I was ready to go. I pulled off the front tank and added my capful of solution and filled the rest with water and then snapped it back into place. I used it in the auto mode which means I didn’t have to worry about anything. There is also a Max mode which leaves the vacuum and water going at all times. In the auto mode its supposed to detect how dirty your floor is and use the cleaning solution when necessary. It easily glided along our floors and the cleaning solution was going the entire time. We have a 1200 square foot upper level and the battery was only down like 25% after doing the whole floor. I did have to fill the cleaning solution before I was done though so I wish the tanks could have been a little larger. I have to say I was shocked (and a little disgusted) at what came out of the tank after. It was black dirty water. So, clearly, our regular vacuum and mop weren’t doing the job! When you are done you simply take the output tank off and open it up and dump out the dirty water and rinse it out. Its really that simple to use! Then you place the vacuum back on the charging base and it will recharge it for you. Also, when you put it on the base it will detect if it needs to run the self-cleaning mode. I didn’t need to do it after the first vacuum, but there is also a button you can push to manually do it. That button is right on top of the handle and I found myself accidentally pushing it a couple times, so maybe that could be in a better place. I ran the cleaning cycle just to see what it would do and it flushed water through the whole system and spun the roller brush to rinse that off as well. It went on for maybe a minute or 2 and then it said it was done. That’s another useful thing this has, it will talk to you and tell you if you need to empty a tank or if it’s done with cleaning mode and things like that. I found that it works VERY well for cleaning our laminate floors. There are a few small annoyances like you’re not able to maneuver under a couch easily and some of the button placements like I mentioned earlier. I also wish that the rollers were a little thicker and removable from the plastic part so you could throw them in the washing machine. Also, I think the tank size could be a little larger. But, other than that, I think this works great and I would highly recommend it if you have hardwood or laminate floors. It will save you a lot of time from having to vacuum and then mop, and it gets your floors very clean!

Clean very well, convenient and smart!
|Posted .This mop cleans very well and very easy to operate. Just fill the clean water tank with water, add cleaning solution, switch it on and mop away! I did not think my house is dirty but this mop still ends with a tank of dirty water with lots of hair. Tineco S5 mop will automatically detect how dirty is your floor and act accordingly. It will provide voice feedback for every action such as power on, charging, auto mode etc. It will also let you know if it needs cleaning. Once placed the mop on the charging base, it will auto detect if the brush roller needs self cleaning. It will also prompt you to clean the dirty water tank. You can switch between solution mode or water only mode in case you run out of cleaning solution. The mop will stop when put in upright mode, resume when tilt. If the mop is not at the upright position, it will want to start moving forward immediately after you switch it on. Battery life is pretty accurate compare to what is stated in the manual, 35 min for auto mode 28 for max mode. However, charging is slow, manual says takes 4 to 5 hours but seems longer. It has three cleaning mode; auto mode, max mode and suction mode. Max mode means max suction and will spray water or cleaning solution. Suction mode only suck water and does not spray water but in testing, it seems still put water on the floor. Once the dirty water tank is full, it will stop and prompt you to empty the tank and it did not take very long for the dirty tank to get full. However, it did not notify me when the clean water tank is empty. I continue mop did not realized that no water solution is used. The guide has some problem such as it says "do not vacuum foamed liquid", does it mean it can't suck up soapy water ? Also this line in the manual, "To vacuum water left on the surface, the appliance will switch off in 3 seconds after power off." ?? Cleaning the mop is very easy, dirty water tank can be taken completely apart for cleaning. Roller and roller cover can be removed from the mop for cleaning. The base has holder for filter, brush and roller but no place for the cleaning solution bottle. I wish both the water tanks can be larger but then it will increase the weight of the mop.

Q: QuestionIs the S5 Extreme the same as the S5 Pro? It is less money than the Pro and has an extra brush, filter, and cleaning solution. I do not understand the differences for the better price at Best Buy. Please clarify. Thank you.
Asked by LILDEB.
- A:Answer The Tineco webpage says the Pro has the suction only function; funny that the Tineco "rep" states that it doesn't. I wish their website would show model numbers so that comparisons are easier.

- A:Answer It’s the same exact item as the base S5 with an additional roller and larger size cleaning solution. Weights should be the same. They also listed it as Tineco’s smartest, most advance wet/dry vacuum and hard floor cleaner, which it is not, the S5 Pro is.

I also Have Bessel crosswave actually use both. Crosswave can do entry carpet mats. Tineco floor only . Tineco leaves a dryer floor. Neither will scrub the floor. It’s a light wet vac mop.
