Titanic: Blood & Steel
The construction of the RMS Titanic offers a glimmer of hope to the downtrodden masses of Ireland in this historical mini-series starring Chris Noth, Kevin Zegers, and Neve Campbell. Belfast, Ireland: 1909. As construction on the Titanic gets under way in the Harland and Wolff shipyard, the investors behind the project see their ambitious endeavor starting to take shape. Meanwhile, the middle class project managers strive to get the details right, and the lower-class workers labor tirelessly to ensure that the ship will be finished in three years. All the while, Britain maintains its rule over Ireland, and the conflict between the Catholics and Protestants reaches a boiling point. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

    Well worth watching

Well done period piece. CGI scenes are, well, CGI scenes but they serve their purpose. Story line focuses on the alleged metallurgical deficiencies, builders cutting costs, labor strife, et al. Not much about full speed ahead into the night and damned the icebergs but that's not really the venue of this rendition of the Titanic.

It was extremely nice to see a Titanic story that did not focus on the maiden voyage. While not always historically accurate, this was a great break from the story we always see.
