Waited a long time for this game!
|Posted .Ever since I saw the first trailer for this game I was pumped. As an avid DayZ player, The Division seemed to have the same style of play and looting system and it immediately appealed to me. From launch until now I have most definitely enjoyed this game a lot. The mixture between a third person over-the-shoulder shooter and a gear progression based MMORPG really makes for a lot of fun and player customizations. My favorite part is probably the seemless transitioning between PVE and PVP gameplay when entering and leaving the Dark Zones (designated Player Versus Player locations). There's no loading screens or extra menus to access. Overall I feel Ubisoft did an amazing job. It's still early in its lifespan so there are a few bugs here and there but they are pretty thorough about regular patches and maintenances. And with future content already being sneak peaked I'm sure this game will continue to provide hours of fun.

Solid showing, despite early bad press.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI wasn't even interested in this game on release, but I bought it when it was on sale. I didn't even install it until some months later. Now that I have some hours into this game (50 hours now) I can say that this is a really good change from other games I have played. This game challenges you to improve your skills, learn equipment, and most of all...strategy. I'm strictly a single player, not into the MMO or online game play and even so, a good game to spend some time in. The learning or training period at the start requires you to pay attention and build your character up before you get into the main story line, and for good reason. If you are short tempered or lacking in patient then I doubt that this game is for you. There is no 'God Mode', you play by your own skills. I am an older player of 62 YO and have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying this game, a great way to blow of some stress and I actually get a feeling of accomplishment. Beautiful graphics, story line is a bit weak, and some 'copy and paste' locations once in a while but not that many. This game can be demanding on your system. Having a good time with this one, I have the PC version.

Great Game so far
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased "The Division" on all 3 platforms and must say that PC is by far the most enjoyable, however there are a lack of players compared to console. The single player campaign is a one shot play through and without the DZ (multiplayer arena) the game gets old. Gear wise you HAVE to play DZ with a group, the high-end gear makes a huge difference. If you're a single player kind of player, I'd wait until you have atleast 2 friends who play consistently. Waiting for the extract in the DZ is only 90 seconds but it can be intense not knowing who will turn on you or if the NPCs decide to come after you. Build specs can be changed at any time so you're not locked in to one particular class. There is a lot of content being released at a steady pace. If the dates hold up, I can see myself playing this game for a long time. If it falls behind... I may not be willing to wait. Ubisoft delayed this game for over 2 years but it was worth it. Been playing for a month now and hit two characters at 30 with DZ levels above 60 on PC alone. Hope everyone has a chance to experience this great game!

Great new Ubisoft IP with a few issues
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAs someone who has played virtually every game Ubisoft has released, I can say that The Division is a great game that has a lot of potential. First and foremost it is a post apocalyptic shooter in the not so distant future following the aftermath of a deadly virus outbreak in NYC. Your group, The Division, is tasked with keeping order in a society ravaged by death, lootings, and lawlessness. The general premise of the game is to roam NYC with your fellow teammates and take back the city from looters and gangs that have risen up. As a large MMORPG style FPS it differentiates itself from other shooters (Destiny, etc) by adding different tactics like it's "Dark Zone". These are contaminated areas that are PVP and offer greater rewards but others can pillage from you and take your rewards. To demonstrate this when I first played one of these zones I teamed up with three others securing supplies in one of these areas. While we were waiting for the copter to pick them up another player attacked us and one of my teammates betrayed us shooting me and our other team mates so he could take the spoils of our supplies. It makes it difficult to know who to trust if not playing with friends. The game promises future updates that will tell more of the story and offer more areas to explore. It's a beautiful but imperfect game (as nothing can live up to fan expectations), but is still rewarding and challenging to play.

What Destiny could have been... in a diff setting
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI waited until the day before release to finally take the plunge on this game, and found it to be well worth the money. The graphics are great, the gameplay is fun, there's tons to do, and matchmaking is fairly quick and painless. There are some cons, such as the story isn't the greatest, the dark zones need an overhaul, running on foot all the time takes forever, and customization is pretty slim, but all and all it's a pretty great experience. If you like Destiny type shooters, this game should be on your shortlist, it does almost everything better, but in a different setting.

Awesome Game!!!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendExtremely fun and addicting game but has a lot of bugs and cheaters that need to be addressed and is being taken care of as I write this. As for the cheaters exploiting the game, that has been fixed and is constantly being monitored by the devs and anyone caught cheating the first time will be banned for 14 days, anyone caught cheating a second time will be banned for life, and for the bugs, they are being fixed with patches quite often. I myself have found several and have posted said bugs on Ubisoft's forum. In my view of the game, sure it has some problems but in the long run you definitely get your money's worth. I would say to anyone interested in this game "BUY IT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!". I've had so much fun with this game I ended up buying the season pass and that's saying a lot because i've never been into multiplayer games in my life.

Good with friends
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe Division is a very beautiful game that captures the feel of a disaster struck New York very well. I found the gameplay and gunplay enjoyable with all the different types of guns that are in the game, they all had a unique feel to them and how they handled. While it seems possible to get by playing solo for a lot of the content, I think the game definitely shines when playing with others. There are lots of abilities and perks that are meant to support you and your allies and of course its always nice to share the experience with others.

Having a blast
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendInitially wasn't sure if I would have fun with this game. I played beta and had enjoyed it, but it's hard to make a decision on a game in beta. Once I found out a friend would also be playing after launch, I figured why not. Boy is this game fun to play with or without friends who play. The matchmaking system is great for finding a group. No wasted time in chat looking for people to join you. The game is beautiful even on low settings if you lack great hardware. The story line is brilliant and the in-game New York is very true to the real thing.
