A great phone for the price; except for the memory
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a no brainer for around 30-40. I got mine for 25. Just get it for that price. Now n general its a first generation phone; my wife has an unlocked one 16 gb version. This is 8 gb and it does not have a micro sd card so if you download a lot of games and apps, you need to keep uninstalling old ones. The HD screen is good and moto assist feature are great. The context aware AI is just great. I bought if for my son and it is perfect for that. This is the verizon locked phone which does not take any sim so you can not use it on GSM carrier. Overall a great buy for 25$, I remember buying the unlocked one when it launched for 150+. If you are in market for a simple but smartphone, buying a phone for kids, looking for a temp phone; this is the one you should get.

Amazing deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to pick this up for $25 with a $25 Best Buy Reward, which essentially made it free. I cannot believe that this is what you can get for $25. It's amazing. I only bought it as a test device, for Android app development, but it's convinced me to take another look at Motorola for my next personal phone. This thing lasted 30 days in standby (airplane mode) from the initial charge! Insane. It feels great in the hand, has a crisp, responsive screen, and killer battery life. Cannot recommend this enough to those looking for a cheap phone that's built with quality and can hang with flagships.

BEST PHONE FOR THE MONEY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know there are way better phones out there but you cant beat the moto G price, it works just fine takes pictures with good enough quality and also with flash, battery lasts good 12hrs, just one thing to bear in mind the space is very limited less than 6gb but nowadays everyone is connected either with wifi or 3G/4G and there are many services that would give tons of GBs for free could storage. I have bought 5 of this for friends and family.

My favorite budget phone.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrific budget phone. That being said, this is a great phone regardless of price. This phone comes with a beautiful vibrant screen. Plus the OS is close to stock Android. The negatives I have with this phone is the lack of a micro SD car and no LTE.

Great Bargin
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this phone on sale for great price. Pretty fast, nice enough screen, came with KK 4.4.4 and I think Motorola already said it's going to get Android 5. One problem with Best Buy's listing is it says it's got an SD slot, but there is none. Make sure 8GB is enough for your use...

Good Value Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this 1st generation Moto G for a little over $10.00. At this price point ($10-$20) the phone offers high value. You get a phone that offers a good user experience, is close to Vanilla Android, Android 4.4, and a phone that is identical to the Moto G in a lot of ways. The phone is very responsive. I use it as a remote for Chromecast and gaming. The description says the phone has an SD Card, IT DOESN'T. All you have to work with is the 8GB of on board memory. You can easily disable a lot of the bloat ware to free up some space. Accessories are plentiful on eBay and can be had for excellent prices. The phone has been rumored to be updated to Android Lollipop 5.0 but that has not happened and most likely will not happen. If you want the newest OS I would hold off on buying this phone as a daily driver. The touch screen is super slick, not sure if the coating will wear off over time and have a more natural feel to it. To summarize, you get a lot of bang for your buck with this phone, just don't expect fast OS updates or lots of free space since it only has 8GB of space. The phone can be rooted and there is a large community of developers on XDA that offer lots of guidance for getting he most out of this phone.

Q: QuestionCan this device be used on wifi for internet searches and apps WITHOUT having it activated?I'm considering it as a replacement for my old Galaxy Player, which was essentially a cellphone with no phone capability. It'll be a great deal if it will work right out of the box on wifi, but not so much a deal if I need to pay Verizon to have it activated.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, I bought one to test that and you can bypass the Verizon set up and go to directly set up the Android portion of it so it functions like a tablet on wifi. Works great for this but you have to remember to put in in Airplane mode or it will revert back to the Verizon set up screen every time it is rebooted.
