Many listeners and followers of the Doobie Brothers mistakenly thought this was their first album as it produced the first hits played on the radio. But it was their second album, with the first receiving little fanfare and less airplay. The album released during the summer of '72 and "Listen to the Music" was an immediate hit with the twin guitars, twin drums and duo vocals of founder Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons leading the way. "Jesus is just Alright" followed in 1973 and was just as successful. "Rockin' down the Highway" and "Disciple" are both typical great Doobie rockers....I also loved the title track, "Toulouse Street", an airy, darker, slower acoustic beginning that turns into a great song. Other songs tend to show other sides of the Doobies heard on future albums. Overall, a great album anyone has to have in their ROCK collection!
