If you don't know about SOAD by now, you're a little behind the times. This album is a staple in their discography and certainly has some killer tracks. The Dada-ist "Pogo" is great. "Prison Song", "Chop Suey", "Toxicity", and "Aerials" have been favorites of mine for a while and are certainly great. The remaining tracks are enjoyable. I think I prefer the Hypnotize/Mezmerize album pair for its extended vocal (and really overall style) diversity between the two vocalists. Toxicity is a great record, and you can get it for pretty cheap!

This album is fantastic. Honestly, you're not going to hear anything like this. Each song is very unique and strange, but it hooks you with each passing note. The lyrics are very abstract, as well. Most people know the big songs on this album, like Toxicity, Chop Suey, and Aerials, but I highly suggest you listen to the other songs as well. Psycho, Shimmy, Bounce, and Forest are some of my favorites in there. The only reason I'm not giving a five star rating is because I disagree with the messages put out there by SOAD. Other than that, not a bad album.

System Of A Down is really one of those bands that's better taken in full doses rather than in pieces, and by that I mean better to hear their full albums especially when the "hit" songs that the radio plays over and over aren't even their best songs. Toxicity is a good example of that especially with the raw energy performance and the clear mixing from legendary engineer Andy Wallace (Slipknot, Slayer, Sepultura, White Zombie, Rage Against The Machine). This easily qualifies as one of those albums that you must hear before you die.

The first time I heard this album I loved it and have not looked back. Out of this genre of rock I'd say this album is the best. From the more famous songs like Chop Suey and Toxicity to the less known songs like Deer Dance this album is great. It is one of the few I can just put on and not keep skipping forward or going back to the good songs.

First time I heard "chop suey" I was blown away, this band are just incredible with this album every song is just mesmerizing,"aerials","forest",prison song, needles, and of course toxicity, with a little political enfasis on our government, this album is great for excercising and headbanging and they bring so much energy to their vocals

    Not Their Best

I'm sorry, but this is S.O.A.D.'s worst album. Compared to all their other albums this one isn't that great. I have been a fan since the first album release and I was never really impressed by this one. It lacks any great guitar playing and fails to capture what they are all about. It seems rushed and stereotyped to fit into a certain category.

Mix of different types of metal for the great SOAD sound, if you were a fan of the first album you'll be a fan of this one. There's heavier tracks as well as softer ones. Joyride of short to the point songs, longest one is 4 minutes

This album is gold, several years later and it still stands to the tests of time. This is an amazing album with great songs from beginning to end, one of SOAD's best.
