easy to setup, doesn't drop connections
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to be a full-on geek and would spend hours reading up on devices before buying, then tinkering with them for hours until I found weak points. Not now, with a family and a job that suck up all my "free time" I can't do that as often as before. When I realized that it was time to stop giving money away to comcast for "renting" their modem, a quick search on amazon and best buy narrowed it down for me to 3 devices, and out of them, this one came up on top due to the overall good, solid reviews, the price point, and the feature list. After weeks of use, I'm happy to report NO issues. haven't had any slowdowns or signal drops (used to happen a LOT when using 2 or more devices at a time with Comcast's router). As I'm writing this, my laptop is wireless, wife is streaming videos on the PC (also wireless) an old music player is playing (also wireless) and my little boy is streaming Amazon videos (wired) and nobody seems to have any issues. Oh, my cell phone is also connected and running updates and what not... all smooth sailing. setup was a breeze (less than 15 minutes) and the instructions to make custom adjustments (or just leave the basic setup as is) are clear and to the point. Great product, great performance, and easy to setup and maintain. Also gives you the option to go deeper into the options and setup advanced networking and parental controls. what else can you ask for? it will pay itself in just a few short months, and I'm not tied up to mediocre cable company equipment.

best modem/router I've had. HIGHLY recommend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it's been more than a year since I purchased this, and I've only rebooted it once, ONCE; because for some reason it wasn't refreshing/reconnecting to any of my devices. and that was maybe 6 months ago already. This thing has been thru power and service outages, and when the issues were solved, it went back to work all by itself. the range is good (live in a medium-sized apartment with a concrete wall separating it from the farthest device) and video streaming is not an issue at all (to a PC used as a streaming device most of the time). it connects at least 2 devices at any given time for streaming (smart TV and tablets) and never have had any lag. configuration page is easy enough for anyone with very technical inclinations, or robust enough for those that know how and want to tinker with it. highly recommend! already more than paid for itself by saving on "equipment fees" from the "friendly" ISP.

nice wireless cable modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this modem after comparing quite a few others to replace my Time Warner supplied modem. It has all the features I was looking for including 4 Ethernet ports and 2 usb ports.Set-up was easy and I had no problems getting connected to the internet.I use an AT&T microcell due to poor phone service in our area-I used to have to reboot the microcell and modem all the time before I installed the new TP-Link modem.Since installing the new modem I no longer have issues with lost connections .

Q: QuestionMy grandma's place has internet coming from an f-type wall plate. Can this connect to that via included accessories? Or would I have to purchase a separate adapter cable?Secondly, would it be difficult to connect a smart TV to this device?
Asked by BMhelp.
- A:Answer If the F-Type wall plate has an active Internet connection from your provider, yes, you can run a coaxial cable between it and the Archer CR700, then activate the gateway with your ISP. If your smart TV has WiFi connectivity, you can easily connect it to the Archer CR700 using the WiFi name and password you set during installation. Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: QuestionJust wondering if this modem TP-Link - 802.11ac Wireless Gateway with DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modum would be compatible, and complete replacement for our comcast xfinity modem? Equipped with phone and internet hook up? Looking to buy, and not rent xfinity.
Asked by seeset.
- A:Answer TP-Link CR1900 can definitely handle Comcast internet but not sure about your phone service. If however your phone number is a VOIP number (such as a free Google number like I have), you can simply run an Ethernet cable into a little Obitalk box. From there, you can run RJ11 cables to standard home phones. I connect mine to Vtech cordless phone system which transmits to other cordless handsets throughout my home. Been using it this way for almost 2 years so that I no longer pay for ANY landline phone services. Google phone service includes free voicemail and can forward calls to your cellular phone too.
