Bought a 10 year old ranch house in June. Signed onto a 100 Mbps plan with Suddenlink. The router is in the far corner of the main level. My TV and laptop are in the basement on the opposite side of the house. Was getting very poor wifi down there...2 bars of strength and about 20 to 25 Mbps speed. After researching, decided to try this TP-LInk Powerline adapter system. Very simple to set up...just plugged the adapter into an electrical outlet by the router, connected the router and adapter together via ethernet cable, then plugged the extender into an electrical outlet in the basement (after following the "pairing" procedure). Took about 15 minutes total. What a change!! I signed onto my laptop in the basement and connected via wifi...60 Mbps! Even better when I connected the laptop to the extender via an ethernet cable (the extender has 3 ethernet out plugs)....80 to 88 Mbps!! This was a great solution for me...could not be happier.

I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to techie stuff, but these units weren't that simple. they seem to work okay, but I had to resign in a couple times already and it's been right at a month.
