This is a good basic Wireless USB Adapter for laptops/computers that lack an Ethernet port. I tested this adapter on a very old laptop with a burnt out Ethernet port and broken on board Wi-Fi chip, rendering it useless. However, this device brought new life to it, and I was up and running in no time. This adapter works a lot better than the USB adapters that look like USB flash drives. The main difference is the dual external antenna, which really extends the coverage. Another advantage is it does not connect directly to the USB port, like the other variants. It actually connects via a USB cable (a long 1.5 meter cable is included!) toward the USB port. This allows you to place the Wireless USB Adapter in a more convenient location, away from the laptop/computer. Setup was very easy. The packaging comes with a driver CD, but I prefer downloading device drivers directly from the website. You also get that latest version that way. The built in WPS button, made the setup even easier! In terms of performance, I was able to receive adequate Wi-Fi signal from most parts of my house. In places where the signal was weak, I manipulated the adjustable antenna, till I got better signal. I was also able to move the adapter away from devices that were causing interference, thanks to the included 1.5 meter cable. As expected, since this is Wireless N, it will not perform as well as Wireless AC Adapters. However, it works well for a cheap and quick fix for a devices with broken Ethernet ports/on board Wi-Fi chips. Submitted as part of a free sample program.
