This is a review of a free product received from TP-LINK as part of the review program. Combining a wireless router and a cable modem in one package for this price is a good deal if your budget conscience. It is only Wireless 2.4Ghz (802.11b/g/n), no 5 Ghz (802.11a). The wireless range is good, but not as good as a standalone wireless router with external antennas. I have a couple Chromecast audio devices that are 2 stories down that come and go from the network, which I didn't have a problem with my previous TP-Link AC1750 router. I did seem to get better range horizontally though (I have a long house). So it really is just a matter of being able to adjust the antennas. The cable modem seems to reset every few days, which resets the whole router. I'm on Comcast in Seattle, and it seems to that the cable modem is getting a signal "Resetting the cable modem due to docsDevResetNow" from Comcast. Searching the internet about it, it seems like it's a signal that is sent when they detect weak signal strength or other issues. Previously I had a TC-7610 cable modem that would degrade in connection speed and needed to be rebooted every few days manually (returned for replacement). I'm not sure if this is a TP-Link cable modem design issue or Comcast, but I had no problems with a Surfboard modem previous to this. At least I don't have to manually reboot this cable modem as it does it for you when signal/connection gets bad, but having your internet reset every few days isn't a good feature. I deduct one star for that. I now have a replacement TP-Link TC-7610 and will see if I have the same issues with needing to reboot the cable modem. I would recommend this product for people with basic internet connection needs, but if you have a big house or do a lot of streaming, you will want to spend some more money and get a standalone modem and a wireless router that suits your needs.

I only rated this good to excellent because it was little finicky in the setup but once running seems stable. If you have to reboot the router make sure you see all the lights come on before releasing the button and be patient. Since then no problem. Don't Likes. Only one - admin p/w for router can not be changed. to me that's a negative. Slim form factor great price for a modem/router combo compatible with Comcast. Would recommend.

I have bought this modem as my Internet Service provider has been charging me with $10 per month, so to avoid those charges I have got this modem. This modem works perfectly fine and very easy to install. Just works perfect for my Home.
