Great upgrade
Had this on Dvd, and knew I was going to upgrade some day. It’s not knock your socks off to much better, but still an improvement. I enjoyed the extra minutes in this. It’s sprinkled throughout the movie, a few seconds to couple minutes on some scenes through the movie. It rounds out the movie more I think, and compliments it.
I am a big fan of extended and director's cuts and this is one of them. It's no 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Kingdom of Heaven' cuts, but it did liven up the story a bit. There are more action clips incorporated into the already existing ones (Warning to parents: the scenes are more graphic than before and). The extra clips go into the lives of the characters more, which is always a bonus. If you haven't seen 'Troy' already, this is something you would want to buy, but if you have, it is a great addition to your collection.

Troy collector
I have several versions of this classic Greek Myth; really was impressed with this movie version. Directors cut is even better.
Have been replacing old DVD with Blue Rays, to update my collection. Extras are interesting!
