I still thoroughly enjoyed this season, but it did hurt coming off such a fantastic first season. This season is much moodier than the first with an ending that won't appeal to everyone seeking a "neat, happy" ending. The whole theme (and slogan) of this season is "we get the world we deserve", and I can see why people see that they didn't get the season they deserved, but it's still an interesting ride.

The first season was done by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and this is the second season that has Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and others. The story is good, but not as strong as the first season. It had its ups and downs story wise, but the cast helps save it with pretty good acting. Definitely worth a watch to see what everyone is talking about.

By the end of the season, I wasn't as disappointed with it. But the story wasn't on the same level as the one told in Season 1. It got hated on much more than it deserved. I think Nic Pizzolatto just didn't have enough time to write and polish the story he wanted to tell. The performances are all top notch, whether or not you like the characters.
