Poor Long Term Ownership Experience - Bad Battery
Posted .I purchased 2 of these from Best Buy a year or so ago. At first I loved these like everyone else. I would have written a raving review when I first got them. But long term ownership is a poor experience which many here will soon discover. First, the batteries and charging circuitry is poor. The batteries used in these units are LiPos and have a very limited lifespan with both light useage and heavy useage. There is no way to replace the batteries without opening the unit, cutting wires, purchasing a new battery yourself (provided you can find one online), and soldering the new battery in. It is a horrible design and this should have been better thought out. Support from the manufacturer, aside from the obvious language barrier has been poor at best with multiple emails back and forth with each asking for some new piece of information in a never ending non-helpful thread.

Q: QuestionPlease measure your unit tell me actual dimensions. The picture is definitely not reflecting 10" high and 9" wide. If this was correct the picture would show an item almost as wide as it is high. Either the picture is wrong or the measurements. Thank You!

- A:Answer Amazing that these answers are so incomplete, so let me explain a bit more fully. To use a Bluetooth (BT) speaker with your TV you need either a TV that has a built-in BT output (not very common) or you must provide your own add-on BT Transmitter that you would connect to a suitable TV audio OUTPUT device. Now here's where things get more complicated. There are two main considerations: (1) lip-sync delay when using BT, and (2) number of SIMULTANEIOUS audio outputs supported by your TV. Let me discuss these separately. 1) Lip Sync. Unless you use a BT Transmitter and also a BT Speaker/Headphone that support APTXLL, you will not be able to obtain lip sync between the video and BT audio. This will annoy you! There is at least ONE inexpensive add-on BT Transmitter that you can add to virtually ANY TV that has one or more audio outputs. It's made by AVANTREE and its the model BTT-418. It's small, works very well (with APTXLL supported headphones or speakers) and it also has the ability to send to two separate BT stereo devices! That is really a nice feature if you need to support headphone audio to two different listeners for example, or one headphone listener and a stereo BT speaker. 2) No. of SIMJULTANEOUS audio outputs supported by your TV or AVR. Most TVs and most Audio-Video Receivers (AVR) will permit ONLY ONE AUDIO OUTPUT to be ON. For example, My LG TV supports Optical, RCA and mini-Phone connections as well as HDMI ARC as input to my AVR. But only ONE of these outputs is capable of delivering audio output. You get to choose which one. So, for example, if I want to use the HDMI ARC support with my AVR, I cannot also port audio out to the BT transmitter! I'd need either one of the rare TVs or AVRs that DO permit simultaneous audio outputs to these two devices, or I can use an add-on products and or possibly a Y-connector at the optical TV output that MIGHT offer an alternative means of obtaining two simultaneous audio outputs, but that's beyond the scope of this reply. So be sure you understand your needs before you purchase your equipment.

- A:Answer EXC actually stands for Exclusive. It has all the same specifications as the Boom 2 (15 hours of battery life and can be in 3ft of water for 30 minutes) but it comes in exclusive colors and is only available while supplies last at Best Buy.

- A:Answer I use it on my motorcycle. However, it's a BMW RT1200 which runs very quietly and it also has a full fairing and windshield. It works fairly well up to about 50+ MPH.
