    Good, but not their best.

Rilo Kiley is one of my favorite bands, but I'm out of the loop. I didn't hear about this album until the it's release date. Before then I thought the band had split off into solo projects, so I was excited to get my hands on this album. When I got it I was kind of surprised. The music wasn't completely different from their usual sound, but they added a dash of 70s funk, and the lyrics had repetitive chorus lines which were a little annoying in some tracks. I still wouldn't call this a bad album. Jenny Lewis' voice is still amazing, Blake Sennett's guitar is still mesmerizing, and you can still hear their sound under the newly adopted funk. True, I wouldn't say this is their best album, but it's still Rilo Kiley, which is always better than most things the music scene has to offer.

I've been a Rilo Kiley fan for a number of years now, and I admit that I was initially disappointed with this album. It sounds much more poppy, catchy, produced...all things that Rilo Kiley were NOT on early releases. The album has really grown on me the more I listened to it, and I think it's because it's just so different, almost like a different band entirely. If you are new to Rilo Kiley then this shouldn't be an issue, but to old fans, be aware that this is a completely different style of album. Still recommended in any case.

After hearing several songs not only from this album but their other albums on the local college radio station, I found out who they were. What I was not aware of was how good they were. This ablum combines pop, rock, memphis soul,60's pop and a dash of Fleetwood Mac. Yet they still have a signature sound that is undeniable Rilo Kiley. When an artist can mix different styles on an album and sound like they are having fun at the same time, you can only anticipate their next output.

I have heard of this band several times over the years but never listened to them. I finally did and am so impressed with them. This CD in particular is my favorite, all the songs are incredible and have a great vibe. Jenny Lewis has a really unique beautiful voice and they have a sound all their own. I highly recommend this CD.

This Album is a great album. Jenny Lewis reminds me of Gracie Slick and is just as attractive. The band is great and so is the song writing. The album just makes you feel better.
