I bought this set as an upgrade to my standard resolution Universal Monsters Legacy Collection DVDs. While it is nice to own these old films on standard DVD, many of the films suffer from grainy pictures and poor sound. Understandable for such old films, but I’ve wondered why the transfer to disc was generally so poor. This Blu-ray set is a vast improvement, with much crisper picture and vastly improved audio. As others have mentioned, perhaps the only shortcomings with the set are the omission of many of the sequels which were included with the Legacy Collection discs, and the decision to include the Claude Rains version of The Phantom of The Opera, rather than the superior silent version featuring Lon Chaney senior. Regardless, this is a wonderful and affordable addition to my high def film collection. Buy it when it’s on sale. You’ll be glad you did.

Love this set. These are the ones that started them all. All 6 are here, but I wish that this was the 30 movie set with all the sequels to them. I grew up on monsters like these; but in cartoons like Scooby Doo with Gramp The Vamp and where they went to Dracula's Castle for a mystery. Hope you come out with the rest of the Monsters as well.
