Venus and Mars has always been one of my favorite Paul McCartney/Wings CDs. The remastering on this CD is awesome. It makes this this 1975 recording sound like it was recorded in 2014, it's that clean. I have owned this album on the original vinyl, then CD, then Gold Master Audio CD, and after listening to this I was amazed at the things that I was hearing that I had never heard before on the previous recordings. If you haven't listened to Venus and Mars in this remastered edition, you haven't truly heard Venus and Mars.
The 14 Bonus tracks are also great. Many show the depth of McCartney's musical genus as they include country, jazz, ragtime, and some great hard driving rock. I understand why they weren't included in the original commercial album, but they are not throw away tracks, they are really good.
Lastly, the 7" vinyl single, (what used to be called a 45) of "Letting Go" is a great collectable bonus. Not having a turntable anymore, I probably wont ever listen to it, but I have put it away as a great collectors item along with my other Beatles collectables. The 45 is free, but there is a $4.25 S&H fee, which to me is well worth it, as it comes nicely boxed and protected.
Bottom line, if you are a McCartney/Wings fan, this CD is a must buy and worth every penny.
