I love this little unit. It runs on little power and gives me a good screen that takes up almost no space in my bag. If I had to buy it again I would have gotten the touch screen version The upsides: Runs on usb-c so I can use it on my phone or the laptop. Also uses hdmi so it's super flexible that way too. It comes with all of the cables to do either usb-c or HDMI Display looks excellent The downsides: The built-in stand is garbage. It will hold but not a smooth surface. The display keeps defaulting to a dim setting and I have to crank it up to use it.

This is a nice monitor to have if you need one that's portable to setup dual monitors on a laptop at home/office or on the go. It would also be great to use for gaming on a Nintendo Switch, Xbox or any other USB-C or HDMI source for that matter. As stated in the product description, you will need a power source like a free USB port for sources that don't support the USB-C DP-ALT Mode. I was able to use it both ways and if the USB-C DP-ALT isn't supported you can use the HDMI port and have a USB cable for power. To use this with a Surface Pro, you may need an external power source depending on the model you have. I have the older one and I have to use the USB port in the power adapter brick and then a mini-display port to HDMI cable and it works perfectly. The display resolution is perfect and matches most laptops with a 1080p resolution. Picture quality is really good and very much comparable to the average laptop display so it should match up nicely in most dual display situations. It does support FreeSync which is awesome at this price for those display adapters that support it. The built-in speakers work surprisingly well but just like with laptop speakers, don't expect any bass! The only thing I don't like is it attracts fingerprints like crazy around the bezel but they included a microfiber cloth for that. The stand/case is awesome and works perfectly to protect it in a bag against your laptop so it doesn't get scratched without adding any bulk to it. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this monitor as it works perfectly for my Surface Pro and has versatile uses where it works great with the Nintendo Switch. It is built solid and looks nice on top of having a decent picture. Not sure why Best Buy doesn't carry this one in stores as I'm sure it's a whole bunch better than the other one that is in the store.

The cover is good at protecting screen but not the best for working as a stand. Slides down and bent when in warm environment.
