Great TV, would have gotten 5 stars but....
Posted .The picture quality of this TV is absolutely amazing. The black levels just as good if not equal to OLED and the colors pop and are extremely vivid. If you are not familiar with the naming conventions of the Vizio TV's The "P" in P series is for "Performance" and it really does well to that standard. If you're a gamer you'll appreciate and respect the TV for what it is capable of with it's 4K UHD and HDR capabilities. As of this writing there are only 2 issues that stand out; 1.) This TV is advertised on Vizio's website as a major supporter of Google Play Movies and TV for 4K UHD content with HDR, however, there is what is currently being considered, an issue or bug with Google Play Movies and TV only playing at 480p when casting directly to the TV (the issue is non-existent when you have Chromecast connected but defeats the purpose of the TV having Chromecast built in) At last check, Vizio and Google were both aware and contacting either of them led the finger to being pointed to the other for a resolution. However, Vizio has acknowledged the issue and stated they were working on a fix, but its been almost a year and still no fix. This issue persists on the P55-F1 and P55RED-F1 so no matter the color, the issue remains. You can reference the status of the issue here: https://www.reddit.com/r/VIZIO_Official/comments/8z43zf/cast_in_4k/ 2.) I own, an Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch, both consoles do amazing on this TV, however, with the Xbox One X, Microsoft made an update to the HDR that leaves the Vizio P-Series TV's incompatible. This isn't too big an issue as the Xbox One X will simply revert to HDR10, but if you want Dolby Vision HDR you will have to wait for Vizio to release a patch. I want to make sure I do not not confuse anyone reading this, the P series does support Dolby Vision HDR but Microsoft's Xbox console now supports a "newer" type of Dolby Vision that the current 2018 and lower model TV's do not support. However, Vizio is aware of this and has stated they are working on a fix. Still, this fix has not reached our TV's. You can find information on the issue here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/xbox-one-x-dolby-vision-support-for-vizio-p-series/97fbc9b9-9a81-4c54-9a7b-55eaf1d12fc7 and Vizio's response to the fix here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2018/10/04/xbox-one-dolby-vision-problems-microsoft-vizio-and-lg-respond/#7a7da4f74539 I hope my review is helpful. I took a photo of how cool the TV is next to my Switch and the glare you get from bright sunlight, the glare looks like it could be a problem but not exponentially in my opinion. I had a Vizio D series before this one that was much worse. I am otherwise happy with the TV and it's current capabilities! the red color is also a nice touch!

Great 4k Picture for the Price.
|Posted .Owned for 5 months when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Watching 4K content and playing games on this tv the picture looks great , that being said it doesn’t do a very good job at upscaling in my opinion my Sony does a much better job in that area, also the tv tuner seems to be weak at picking up good signals , I might try a different antenna but I’ve seen that complaint in other reviews. Other than that I am satisfied with this tv the comparable Sony tv with better upscaling was about 400 dollars more at the time I purchased it. The 4K pictures on the two were similar in my opinion and I think saving 400 bucks for a spare tv in the sunroom was worth it.

4K tv in a great package
|Posted .This is a great 4K tv with all necessities: 120hz panel, various hdr standards, local dimming and wide color gamut. Pros: Brightness. It can reach up to 1000 nits which is insane for a tv at this price. Hdr really pops as intended. If a tv is no brighter than 600 peak, the hdr will only feels washed out. Color calibration. Out of the box the color is accurate and needs minimum tweaking. This is a huge plus for average customers. Local dimming. With it, this tv can reach some awesome bright dark contrast. Although it only has 56 zones (mine is 55 inch), they really work great without obvious blooming. Build quality: not flimsy, panel quality is solid as well. Slight Vignette on corners but unifomity is great. Cons: Laggy OS. The tv OS is sometimes slow to respond. If you have a console or a tv sticker, you are fine. Viewing angle. This tv including all other tvs with VA panel have this problem. Color will shift slightly if not directly in front of the tv but in real world it’s not that scary. Sound quality. The speaker of this tv is bland and mushy. A basic 2.0 sound bar is recommended. **for the people struggling with this tv and TCL 6 series: TCL has better brightness and more dimming zone in paper. I compared with them side by side only found that thanks to Vizios better color calibration and better dimming algorithms, tcl does not feel as pop as vizio. Plus, you don’t risk playing panel lottery with TCL at least for this year or before they upped their game in QA. Overall, this tv ticks all the boxes for a real 4K HDR experience.

Absolutely Mind Blowing
|Posted .First off let me say that i have been through the ringer trying to find a TV. Guess what? I found it! After going through the TCL hype, we went through 6 (SIX) replacement tv's between the 5 and 6 series.. I was enraged and couldnt believe how hard it was to buy a decent tv these days.. I called the TCL support line (awful, absolutely awful) and finally got them to send me a refund for my defective equipment and i will not be going back. Ever! Horrible experience. Now on to the Vizio.. I did extensive research on this product. A native 120hz panel with full array backlighting from a trusted brand for under $1,000, I had to try it out. The colors are super vibrant and rich even in a bright room. Reflections to a minimal and black looks like black, grey looks like grey. I seriously couldnt be happier with this purchase. The sound on the tv is a little iffy, but it's fine for everyday watching. Dont expect a concert in ur family room. HDR content is crazy. I'm seriously blown away with this TV. You cannot go wrong with this. You just cant. PS4 plays flawlessly and actually looks like a different game. Especially madden. The AI on this thing is incredible and i honestly cant rave enough. I hope this review is enough to persuade you into buying this set.

Excellent TV Great price!!
|Posted .I went to Best Buy right after Black Friday to get a new 4K UHD TV. I didn’t want one of the cheap Doorbuster Tv. I picked up the LG SK8000 55” for $699 which was a good deal I thought. The picture was great but the Edge Lit Display was TERRIBLE! So I exchanged that for this Vizio P Series 55” 4K UHD Tv and the P Series is WAY BETTER than the Lg SK8000 55” Pros of the P Series: - nice bright display - Great colors - Nice Clear And Amazing Picture Quality that competes with QLED TVs for half the price. - Built in Chromecast is a Plus - I love the build of the P Series 2018 TVs. - Non-existing Bezel on top and sides with a tiny sliver of silver at the bottom. - 5 HDMI PORTS! - Best TV in this price Range by far! - Full Array Dimming - Bright colors deep blacks Cons of the P Series : - Smartcast is a little sluggish but is nice especially when you cast stuff to your tv. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this TV to anyone looking for an AMAZING 4K UHD Tv for an amazing affordable price! Defiantly beats ALL the competitors which are a lot more exspensive with less features. I always get Vizio TVs but this P Series 2018 55” is the best TV I have owned!

3.5 stars really! Great picture but only sometimes
|Posted .First off the software is horrible and clunky. Just skip it. The legs are very spread apart and wide making a huge stand necessary. The image when utilizing local dimming really messes some things up. Especially text. All of my on screen guides look like crap around the text. Especially those on gray backgrounds. The color is not uniform what so ever. Last of the bad is the VERY loud siren alarm sound that happens once in awhile. Now the good. The design of the TV, material, fit n finish are all very nice and upscale. The colors are amazing. The picture is very good. Sound is adequate. My Samsung UN55MU6290 broke after 16 months. I picked up this Vizio for really cheap. On paper the Vizio blows the Samsung out of the water. In real life this is not the case. This TV is worth the discounted price it is now selling for.

Big Step Backward From Past P-Series Models
|Posted .Love the new price point on this year's models, but sadly, performance and QA have taken a major hit. Having used both a 2014 P55 and a 2016 P65 previously and quite liked them, my P55 in comparison suffers from some major issues, including significant edge-clouding and backlight bleed, extremely noticeable local-dimming, and HDMI issues. Edge clouding and bleed results in noticeably dull colors and increased black levels around the edges of the set (up to a about a foot into the screen on each edge), while the the dramatic cut in local dimming zones (about half of last year's models) results in much less effective local dimming, and very obvious zone switching (you can occasionally also see the actual LEDs in certain bright white scenes). The new God of War in HDR mode looks terrible with local dimming on, with very obvious zone switching and flashlighting as you pan the camera around. The first HDMI port also appears to have issues with HDR content, occasionally losing picture and requiring a reboot. Though far less of an issue, the built in apps are also rather sluggish. Given the more positive reviews below, I'm assuming my set is defective, but given the overall cuts in performance to this years' sets, I'll be switching to a different brand. Big disappointment from a prior fan of Vizio TVs!

Q: QuestionWhat is the distance between the feet of the stand on the 55" model? Wondering if my current entertainment stand could fit this without a wall mount. Also, can the legs be inverted inwards like they cant on some other tvs?
Asked by RichBen.
- A:Answer The distance between the outer sides of the stand legs is 42.31". The stand legs can only go into the TV in one direction.
Answered by VIZIO
Q: QuestionHas anyone experienced Vertical banding? any noticeable issues?
Asked by Paulie.
- A:Answer Yes, but it varies by individual unit. Thankfully, Best Buy makes it easy to exchange if the variation is unacceptable. Clouding, low-luminosity/non-functioning LEDs, poor audio isolation were/are also present. (Also, my replacement unit looks like someone placed a clamp on one of the screen corners.) I'm going to try one more time, and then switch to Sony's X900E or X900F if I can't get lucky on the 3rd shot. Again, as much as I'm frustrated with Vizio's uneven build quality, I'm in love with Best Buy's assistance.

Q: QuestionIs this the 2018 model?

Q: Questionwhich one better tv vizio p series 2018 or sony x900e?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The p series is the better tv for your money. The sonys I bought over the years tend to break and have problems. I had the 900e it had a bad HDMI port of it. Plus the 900f only comes with 2 HDMI ports that support 4k hdr, and one of those is the arc HDMI port. The p serious has 4 HDMI ports that support 4k hdr. And the 5th one supports 4k but no hdr , but in game mode get 15.3 Ms iput lag which is the best iv'e seen for gaming in a very long tv.

Q: QuestionI don't know about casting and all that and likely my S4 is not up to the task. I can't find a list of what apps are on the tv. Watch a lot of Discovery channel and wondering if any way I can access the free Discovery go app with this tv.
Asked by Thearcher.
- A:Answer Discovery is not one of the apps available. If you would like to watch it, and are unable to cast, you would need to buy a streaming device such as a Roku and hook it up through one of the 5 HDMI ports. You might want to buy a streaming device even if you only wanted the apps available since they mostly tend to be frustratingly slow and laggy. The picture on this TV is excellent, though, so I didn't mind spending the little bit extra on a Roku to have better features. Here are the apps that come with the TV. Youtube; Plex; Amazon Prime; Netflix; WatchFree Vizio; Hulu; Vudu: IHeartRadio; Xumo; Youtube TV: CBS all access; NBC; Fandango Now; CBS News; Redbox; Dazn; Flixfling; Fitfusion; Crackle; Taste It; Newsy; Haystack tv; Dove Channel; Curiosity Stream; TG; Pluto; Music B; ConTV.

Q: QuestionI'm wondering what the distance is of the Vizio 55" from leg to leg of the stand. One answer says 48.49" with the stand, some more answers say it's about 42". What is the actual length of the TV when only considering the stand?
Asked by InterestedBuyer.
- A:Answer It's about 42.5 inches outside of foot to outside of foot.
