Excellent TV for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*Update to my previous review- Didn't show as Verified Purchaser for some reason* The 2016 P Series made me change my mind about the Vizio Brand. That TV blew me away. So when I heard about an even better Vizio P Quantum coming out I had to try it. I've been using it for a few days now, I've tested and calibrated it. Wow. Best TV I have ever owned. It is NOT perfect though, but worth the price. Positive: +Picture Quality is Excellent +Perfect for bright rooms (what I use it for) +HDR handling is also excellent. (Better than regular P series) +Anything 1080P or higher resolution looks amazing! +Gaming is smooth, works perfectly with Xbox one X in HDR Negatives: -Anything below 1080P looks fuzzy. There are setting to try and clear it up but still noticeable. On par with previous Vizio tv's. -The screen itself is a quarter inch tilted. I mean inside of the frame the TV is not even. It tilts to the left side 0.3 inch. It is only noticeable if you look at it closely. -The built in speakers are terrible. You must get a soundbar. -Some TV Channels in 1080i format cause black dots to appear on the screen (along the edges). I can't determine if this is a problem with the video source or the TV's processing.

Best TV on the market!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my TV mounted and I've yet to find a flaw with it!! I have LED strips around my TV and the TV gets brighter than the lights and I can barely see them at 100% brightness. Picture quality is amazing! 720p content looks fine but anything 1080p/2160p is absolutely stunning! The blacks are so black that it makes me think I have an OLED TV but with amazing brightness and no burn-in worries that come with an OLED panel. Don't buy into the brand hype with sets like Samsung or Sony. The only disappointment with this TV is I wish a larger size was available!

Great TV for dark and bright room viewing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got our Vizio P Quantum and it looks fantastic! The HDR effect from the high peak brightness this set can put out is amazing. Measured 2,240 nits in a 10% window. Really nice to see a manufacturer actually OVER-delivering on their advertised specs for once. Of course, HDR is about more than peak brightness and in a lot of cases high peak luminance also means raised or grey-ish blacks. Not so with the P Quantum. The black levels look fantastic with 192 zones (Xtreme Black set to medium looked best to me). So good that it's actually very hard to tell the difference when shooting out against our 2018 OLED. Sure, OLED is ever so slightly better for really dark scenes with all the lights turned off but, man, it's hard to justify the extra $$$ for that with blacks this good! Even in dim lighting we found black levels to basically be a wash between the two sets. Really pure colors from Quantum Dot technology too. Attached an image of spectrum measured from the TV showing really narrow peaks of red, green and blue. Great separation between colors and no washed out white effect like you sometimes see on bright colors with an OLED. Bonus: awesome viewing angle... From reviews I read, I expected great brightness, color and black levels so the biggest surprise for me is the viewing angle. I've never seen an LCD look this good off-axis! I'm not sure what Vizio are doing differently here but other TV makers should absolutely take note. Bottom line: this was the best TV for us. With the mix of viewing that we do including daytime sports (NFL starts at 10AM here in CA) in bright ambient lighting and evening movie viewing, where black levels are critical, there was nothing better.

An AV nerds dream come true
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is without question the best tv I have ever seen, let alone owned. I am coming from a Sony X930E and before that an LG B7A OLED. This is the brightest tv I have ever seen and it isn’t even close. That, with the extreme contrast that the excellent local dimming and black levels provide make this tv my top pick, at any price. Factor in the price of this set on sale and it should be a no brainer. The black levels are the best I have seen from an LCD tv. The only time any amount of blooming is noticeable is when the tv is pushing 2000 nits or more right next to a letterbox bar and the room you are viewing in is completely dark- then there is sometimes some spillover. This set is in a league of its own. Quantum dot color is just the icing on an already fantastic cake. My 2 complaints are: - No cable management for the rear of the tv - SmartCast is lacking some apps I feel like I stole this tv for the price. If I had a golden ticket to walk out with any tv in the store for free, I would pick this one.

Get your sunglasses ready...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is bright. I read the reviews and even saw it at another retailer on the show floor (Best Buy didn't have it available at any store for viewing) and they were not kidding. Adjusting the backlight helps from singing your eyeballs a little until you get used to it. The colors are amazing compared to my old edge lit Vizio. Oh and 65" is huge. It doesn't look like it on the show floor, but when you get it home, its quite large. Measure! Gaming on the Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch is great. Response times are fantastic with this TV. I can't wait to get an X1X. I was between this TV and the Sony X900F, especially with Sony's upscaling technology being the best there is and I have a lot of old DVD content. Honestly, it really depends on your source material. 1080p is upscaled 4x to reach 4K. 480p/720p (DVDs) is much more so, so it will always be a lot blurrier. Is it horrendus? No. Is it watchable. Yes. Is it Sony quality? Probably not. One thing I really wish Vizio would fix, is the terrible banding you see gradients. It isn't just me either as there are many reports of this on the AVForums and other review sites. Its pretty ugly to look at, and while I generally only see it in static content (Netflix menu, smoke in the background of a game menu, etc), I did see a really harsh example watching Planet Earth on Netflix (1080p) while viewing the ocean from above. The blue water looked like a water painting, so bad I thought the TV broke. Vizio if you're listening, your TV is awesome, but please fix this! If you're on the fence, go for it.

The best TV next to an OLED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won't give I high end technical review like some reviewers have done, even though it is my inclination. Suffice to say, this TV makes the most of the LED format without being an OLED. Watching movies on this TV vs my older LED is night and day better! The sound is nothing to write home about and the remote is a little 2015 but otherwise, this TV delivers on what you want at the best price/performance ratio.

A beautiful TV for a very reasonable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After looking at countless reviews for the Sony X900F and Z9F, Samsung QLED Q8 and Q9 & LG C8... I decided to go with the Vizio and there are absolutely no regrets so far. The small bezel on the TV makes it look like you are just looking at screen and the tiny Vizio logo on the bottom is barely noticeable at all. The back of the TV doesn't look as good as the Samsung Q9 but I will probably never have to look at the back of the TV unless i need to work back there. The front just looks beautiful. The picture quality is outstanding and the TV gets insanely bright. The colors really pop on this TV whether I'm playing the Xbox One X, watching an UHD Blu-Ray, Regular Blu-Ray disc, or playing movies on my Apple TV 4K. The blacks get really black thanks to the 192 dimming zones. I can't speak on the sound quality because I have been using a sound bar (which anybody getting a TV in this price range or higher should have an external sound source). The only drawback to this TV is the operating system. It is pretty slow, but thankfully i do not have to deal with it so much since I own an Apple TV 4K as well. At the discounted price of $1499, this is the best and most responsibly sound purchase I could have made given the prices of other TVs available on the market with this type of picture quality. I wholeheartedly recommend this TV for anybody looking for a 4K HDR TV with the primary concern of picture quality.

Excellent Value for Performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from an older M55-C2 model and so glad I did. I took advantage of price matching to a leading wholesale chain’s promo price, and still got 10% back after using a newly-acquired Best Buy credit card. After going back and forth with entry level OLED models and this newly released set I decided to stay with Vizio and the new PQ65. Aside from some booming on black screens with bright lettering, this TV is hard to distinguish from an OLED panel. As Rtings recommends, calibrated dark was a great starting point for my situation... this TV can go wicked bright. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a room too bright for this set. Happily, Vizio has started including tv tuners again and gone away from the complex tablet/app based controls (although this tv is app controllable, it’s not mandatory). A welcomed surprise after booting up for the first time was the integrated PlutoTV (“watchfree” input) which is completely free and offers a handful of internet TV channels... complementing the local OTA channels nicely. In addition to the impressive panel, maintaining 5 HDMI inputs is also handy as I am an avid gamer with all inputs put to use. Low input lag is also a big bonus (slightly less than our previous M55!).

Q: QuestionI am trying to decide between this model and the 75inch P series. Prices are comparable, so what would be the better buy? I’m having a tough time trying to decide between a bigger screen or better specs. Is the difference in image quality noticeable?
Asked by TylerWI.
- A:Answer I went with the Quantum because of the better black specs and quantum dot. I haven’t seen the 75” P, but suspect it has a great picture. The smaller screen wasn’t an issue for me, personally. Neither is an OLED, but I game enough to worry about burn in and am happy with my choice. Good luck!

Q: QuestionAre the onscreen menus rendered in 4K or in 1080p on this model? I own a 2016 P-series, and was disappointed back then to find that they were not, and was hoping this aspect has been improved over the past 2 years.
Asked by Dimitri.
- A:Answer To the best of my discernment yes, the menus are rendered at the panels native 4k. However, I would recommend watching content, not scrutinizing menus. :P I could see how it could be an annoyance though, just messing.
