Wow!!!
Posted .Pros mentioned:Color, Design, GamingCons mentioned:ChromecastWOW!!!! Were the first words out of my mouth when I opened the box and took my first look at this tv. This is the slimmest, aside from the bottom half of the tv, I have ever seen. So, to be honest I was never a big fan of Vizio Tv’s. I had always seen great deals on their products but nothing ever attracted to the brand, until today. Today I received my first VIZIO OLED TV and boy was I wrong. The colors, the blacks, the design, and the sound, vizio has won my heart with their OLED series TVs. So, lets go over some of the features of this tv and what it has to offer. Unboxing and Setup- ***BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU UNBOX THIS TV, IT IS SUPER THIN SO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH IT*** I would definitely two or more people to do the unboxing and setup. The top half of this tv is just glass, and the bottom half potion is the housing for the speakers, motherboard, inputs and the power. The back has two removable panels where you run all your cabling and cover them back up for a nice clean look. The tv also comes with a solid metal stand. The stand alone weighs about 10lbs. I ended up mounting my tv on the wall but all accessories are provided for mounting the tv, except for the mount, or using the stand. Once the tv was properly mounted on the wall, the setup process began for the tv. The setup is fairly simple, select your location, connect to WIFI, search for local channels, connect to either Alexa or Google home and your done. Your tv is ready to go. Colors, Blacks and Screen Resolution- The colors and blacks are really amazing on this tv. The colors are vibrant, bright and really pop out, kind of giving you that feeling of actually being there and the blacks are deep blacks, as if the pixels in the area turn off. This tv really has sensational contrast, colors and blacks and really give some well-known brand name TVs a run for their money. The TV supports 4K (2160p), HDR, HRD 10, HDR 10+, and Dolby vision. Unfortunately, I was unable to experience the full pro gaming engine of this tv due to the fact that ps4 pro does not support free sync therefore unable to use the variable refresh rate. Overall, still a solid gaming experience in 4K. Sound Quality- Vizio didn’t leave anything out when it came to this tv. This tv supports DTS Virtual: X sound technology. DTS Virtual X, for those who don’t know, is a new audio technology that provides a 3D surround sound experience without the need for surround sound speakers, moving sound around you as it would in real life giving you a more immersive experience. Smartcast and Apps- Now this part I was not very impressed with and was a lit lacking, although the tv comes preloaded with a plethora of different apps you can use for entertainment and the option of casting your iphone or android to the tv, but that is pretty much it. Unlike other manufactures that have their own app stores to allow to download and use like the internet browser or download games, this tv does not support that. Features- 4 HDMI ports 2 USB ports 1 Digital optical audio 1 Analog Audio RF antenna input Composite input WIFI / Ethernet VESA 300mm x 200mm mount Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri 30 watt speaker output 120Hz Refresh rate 71lbs with stand / 61lb without stand Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, Prime Video, Redbox, Tubi, XUMO, YouTube In conclusion, this is an awesome tv for the price, and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a tv to checkout this unit in person, because pictures don’t do this tv justice.

Luxury OLED TV performance at a bargain!
Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, Gaming, PictureCons mentioned:Chromecast, FeaturesThis TV has been a colossal improvement in visual entertainment quality for me. It has turned my living room into what feels practically like a movie theater experience combined with the quality and image fidelity that only OLED TV’s of this caliber can offer. Vizio has truly knocked it out of the park with this TV. The unboxing: The unboxing process with two people was incredibly explained and intuitive to follow, set up was easy considering the side and cumbrance of this TV! There were even labels like ‘grab here’ ‘don’t grab here’ etc. The unboxing and initial assembly steps were easily accomplished between just my friend, myself, and one phillips head screwdriver. The set up: This TV was as I expected given the price range it falls in. Everything was plug and play. I plugged in my Dolby Atmos sound bar via the labeled eARC HDMI port, my ethernet cable into the ethernet port, my Playstation 4 HDMI cable into one of the HDMI 2.1 ports and everything turned on a performed just as expected with no hassle. The soundbar in particular was automatically detected and I am even able to control the volume of the soundbar via the remote the TV came with! Smooth. This TV also offers next level cable management. The picture I took was poor with my flash, but the cable channels in the back of the TV perfectly and smoothly stow away all of your cables and route the down and out the back of the base, really enhancing the professional and high-end look of this TV! The user interference (UI): In reading about this TV before I received it, one of the most common complaints I ascertained was that people felt the UI was choppy, laggy, or not very high quality given the caliber and price of this TV. The TV updated its firmware when I first booted it up and connected to the internet. With the update completed, I feel that Vizio has addressed the concerns of many of the early reviewers. I felt the UI—while lower quality than that of my previous LG TV—was sufficiently easy to navigate and did not seem choppy or laggy at all in my view! The only thing that I saw is that the icons on the Home menu where you can navigate between apps did not look very polished, so perhaps that is what is confusing people. The remote: Thankfully, this is a relatively small knock given the whole of how awesome this TV is, but I just can’t stand the remote. The ergonomics of it feel wrong and it lacks the excellence and advanced features of other companies remotes like the Magic Remote from LG. I also tried the Vizio smartcast remote app on my iPhone and found, much to my irritation, that to utilize the full features of it you have to do monthly payments or pay a one-time lifetime payment to utilize it! I was not happy here. A quarter of a million dollar Lamborghini should not have a crappy steering wheel—a TV of this caliber and price should not have a remote worthy of a TV 10% of the cost! The sound: As I mentioned earlier, plugging in my HDMI eARC sound bar was easy as could be and the TV automatically connected, utilized, and even controlled it with the remote! This is good, because boy do you really need an external audio device with this TV. The built-in speakers vibrate terribly at certain volumes and have little to no base. For example, the TV vibrates with the Stranger Things theme above volume 60. Alas, in this era of making TV’s thinner and thinner, there has to be comprises somewhere, and I feel that the speakers probably drew the short straw. Accordingly, though, I think that most people expect or want to buy soundbars, so this is not the worst thing. The picture quality: As advertised, the blacks are truly so deep and rich as to be expected with an OLED device. To further enhance the image quality, I recommend going into the picture settings in the menu and changing the picture mode to ‘Sports’. This yielded the best contrast and brightness settings I felt. I will be awaiting Tom’s guide or someone else to be coming out with specific calibration settings, but I feel the ‘sports’ setting is sufficient to my needs for now! I have owned 4K TV’s for a few years now, and this one just does seem to blow all the previous LED and nanocell technology TV’s out of the water with this gorgeous OLED panel! Altogether, I highly recommend this TV. Vizio has delivered an incredible OLED TV here that is ready for the new gaming consoles coming out at a truly, crazily competitive price in this OLED high-performance TV space. This TV has transformed my living room into a gaming and TV watching haven and I am sure it will do the same for you!

An Excellent Way To Enter The World of OLED
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5While I've been a videophile for the longest time, I never had the opportunity to purchase an OLED television due to the technology's price. As everyone knows, they're expensive televisions. I've seen several in-person comparisons between OLEDs and QLEDs in recent years, but this is the first time I've been able to pull the trigger and purchase one. I looked through LG, Sony, and Phillips for OLEDs. I went through several reviews on TVRtings.com and other credible sources. I ran into the issue where I wanted an upgrade from my 55" Samsung LED, but I also wanted an increase in size. While LG, Sony, and Phillips had great options for OLEDs, they put me in the bracket of another 55". But then I saw this VIZIO, which took me by surprise. I didn't know they had made an OLED Television. It wasn't a brand I wanted to go with, but with the 65" being on sale for $1500 and the reviews being solid, I decided to make the purchase. Let me get to the point which I'm sure you're curious about: this television has EXCELLENT picture quality. With an OLED, you're getting pure black, you're getting the individual pixels with their own lighting, and you're getting an infinite contrast ratio. I use it specifically for 4K UHD Blu-Rays and watching films. I also use it for some streaming television shows here and there. The films I have seen have looked absolutely beautiful and if you've never seen an OLED you will instantly notice a significant bump in picture quality. Both films and television shows look absolutely gorgeous, especially when you're watching this in a dark room. With this television, you get the benefit of being able to take advantage of both HDR10 and Dolby Vision, which is an incredible benefit as most manufacturers take one or the other. The color gamut is outstanding and colors look natural and the contrast gives the image incredible depth. The television has outstanding grey uniformity and for the most part, will not present any issues for casual users. I've seen films like Aquaman, Tenet, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight (all on 4K UHD Blu-Ray) and they have all left me in awe. It's like watching the film all over again. Overall, there are plenty of more pros than cons with the picture quality. It's quality that even videophiles should be absolutely pleased with. VIZIO did an excellent job fo this being their first OLED and I'm sure it's raised some alarms at LG and Sony. However, no television has perfect picture quality. A common fact about OLEDs is that they don't get as bright as QLED televisions. When watching HDR content calibrated for an accurate picture, you're getting probably 550 nits, which isn't an incredibly bright image. It can hit a peak brightness of 800 nits, but you probably won't be getting an accurate picture with the footage. If you don't care about having an accurate picture (i.e. colors and content looking like the creator intended), it may not even be an issue for you. Finally, while this television does have excellent grey uniformity, but when testing it I did notice some very mild vertical banding (1-2 mild vertical bands). I have 50 hours with this television, so this may be something that goes away, but it is a common downside of OLEDs and you kind of have to play "panel lottery" when you make the purchase hoping you get a solid one. I have only noticed it very briefly when watching one scene Dunkirk, but this was literally two seconds. If you're a casual watcher, you won't notice anything. VIZIO has kindly introduced a screen refresher option and pixel movement to fix any issues with the image that may result from burn-in (an issue that is common with ALL OLED televisions). The audio on this television is mediocre at best. It could be a lot clearer and a little bit louder. It's definitely not the best audio I have heard and it can be a bit discouraging when you're paying this much money. You'll definitely want to purchase some soundbar to accompany this television. People have complained about the software, stating it is buggy or sluggish. As of January 2021, I have not had any issues with it at all. The interface is fast, snappy, and responds very well. I'm sure LG and Sony have a better interface as they've been in the game a bit longer, but I've not had any issues with the VIZIO software at all. Finally, there has been a mixed response with the variable refresh rate (VRR) on this television. As you can see, several of the reviews on this site alone cited frustration with not being able to play games at 120hz. However, as of January 2021, I've seen several people state that they've been able to play games on the new consoles at 4K at 120hz. I've also continued to see people who say they can't. I have a gut-feeling they don't have their inputs set correctly on the television or console. If some people are able to play it, it must be a functionality that can be accessed. Prior to all the firmware updates, I fully acknowledge people could not do it. Several of the reviews on here were correct at the time they were written. While I'm a gaming enthusiast and have a gaming PC, I have not used this television for any gaming as I primarily use it for my home theater. So if you want this for gaming, you may want to do more research to see if the VRR is fully functional. I'm thinking at this point it is, but please double-check. Overall, I would rate this television a 4.5/5. I kindly rounded up and gave it five stars on here due to the excellent quality, excellent price, and awesome implementation from VIZIO. I've had it for two weeks and there have been no significant concerns. Videophiles should be pleased and casual viewers will definitely be blown away. I'm looking forward to seeing what VIZIO does with OLED in the future.

Best value for OLED
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I purchased the 65 inch after doing research for a week. I like the reviews and decided to pull the trigger. I purchased it on sale for 1800 and it dropped in price literally the next day to 1500. Best Buy price matched with no troubles. This tv has a beautiful picture. The contrast and blacks on this tv are unmatched but by other OLEDs. It has VRR and since it also has hdmi 2.1, that means it also supports the new consoles at 4K 120FPS. I have my Xbox Series X hooked up to it and it looks amazing. If you see this tv on sale and you’re on the fence, scoop it up. It’s a no brainer for 1500. The only downside is the Vizio Smartcast feature. I’m not sold on it for the simple reason that you can’t add any apps besides the ones pre-installed. You can “cast” or stream other apps through Android or iOS but it’s not as easy or intuitive as just pressing a button on a remote.

Great for TV. Next Gen Gaming? Not now.....
Posted .Pros mentioned:Color, Design, GamingIf you want to read about the next gen tests, scroll below. Packaging/Unboxing Safely shipped in an enormous generic brown box to "conceal" the contents (thank you) with corner foam protecting the inner Retail Box. Once unboxing is done (hopefully you had the help of another person), this TV looks amazing and gives off a superb premium feel. Instructions on how to lift it and where to grab properly are clearly labeled everywhere from the instruction book to the labels all over the back of the TV. I choose not to wall mount due to reasons stated later. The center support is HEAVY in a good way and looks aesthetically pleasing. Back of the center support is plastic but the main part is metal. Setup Fairly straight forward and easy steps to follow. NOTE: The power cord is comes with is a NON POLARIZED ac cord (rounded on both sides of the end that plugs into the TV) but the connecter on the TV and the picture label is clearly POLARIZED (Square on one end and round on the other). After a phone call to Vizio's CS about this, they assured me that this doesn't matter and should work no matter which way it's plugged in (I didn't trust that so I used my own proper AC cords). Turning on the TV for the 1st time greets you with the power of the OLED - White Vizio logo surrounded by perfect black background. Startup for the 1st time is simple, connect to the internet for updates and the usual Language / Location preference. 4x HDMI - HDMI 1 is E/ARC, HDMI 2 and 3 are 4k 120 (not really yet) and HDMI 4 is standard 4k @ 60. A couple of USB-A ports and Digital and Analog audio inputs as well. Performance and Next Gen Gaming My personal picture settings: HDR10 - Calibrated Dark Ambient Light Sensor - Off Tone mapping - 17 Brightness to Tint - Default Sharpness - Varies - I change from 0 to 20 depending on content. Color Temp - NORMAL Advanced Picture - Game Mode ON - VRR - On/off (doesn't matter because is doesn't work except with Xbox One X 1080/120) I have attached pics of the PS5 and Xbox Series X as proof of the tests. I streamed YouTube directly to the TVs casting feature and play tested the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, PS5 and Xbox Series X (also the switch but that's just 1080 and worked just fine). Streaming - YouTube content streamed perfectly. 1080/60 to 4k/30 (LTT Channel) displayed correctly and looked visually great. No artifacting of any kind at all. Played some movies I purchased from the play store I had in my library and blacks were spot on and colors did not looked washed or have that Aura Glow effect. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X - Both were immediately known by the TV and labeled the HDMI inputs as such (PlayStation 4 and Xbox). This was using HDMI 4 input. 4k @ 60 are preset and HDR was automatically enabled by both consoles. Gaming looked great as one would expect from this OLED. Played HZD on PS4 and Outer Worlds and CoD on the Xbox. Also took advantage and tried the 1080 @ 120 option the One X offered on HDMI 2. Worked and was buttery smooth. But again, limited to FHD gaming instead of UHD. Now the fun (actually not so fun) part of the new consoles. Plugging in the Series X or the PS5 into HDMI 2 OR 3 (the 4k 120 ports) gives you nothing but a black screen. The TV labels them properly (Playstation 5 etc) but there is NO picture. I tried disabling VRR because there is an issue with this TV NOT doing 4k @ 120 yet, nothing. The only way to get a picture was to go into the settings and change the 2.1 to 1.4 and you're stuck with "next gen" @ FHD (1080). What a let down. So using HDMI 1 or 4 will properly show the systems working but only @ 4k / 60. At least that is something. When gaming on the PS5 the games were stunning (played Godfall, fun game). Visually popped in every which way. WOW. Blacks were great. HDR was beautiful. Colors blew my eye sockets away. This ALMOST made me forget I was gaming at 60 instead of the supposedly 120. Frames did drop below slightly at some times, but was rarely noticed. I am hoping and praying this gets updated with a firmware update ASAP because you cannot label and sell this as 4k120 when it clearly does NOT work. This is backed up by multiple sites and vids proving this point as well. Sound - Decent at best when just hearing the TV speakers, but this should already be a known fact the TV speakers are never great. I used 3 different set ups. 1st was Digital Optical out into a shelf system (Sony) and hearing it on 2.1. Definitely a step up from standard TV speakers obviously. 2nd was my Samsung 850T sound bar. Atmos worked beautifully and the surround was great. Gaming and streaming alike was good. And lastly was the Denon/Bose/Klipsch 7.2.4 set up. No brainer here. Amazing sounds using eARC feature to the receiver. Issues Everyone is different and I guess I just got a bad apple. I have an ANNOYING line of dead pixels on the right half of the TV from top to bottom. Vizio is currently looking into this, so as of this review on 11/14/2020 I will not deduct stars was this should always be covered under warranty. 4k120 - Doesn't work. Plain and simple. Hopefully a future firmware fixes it. Sometimes when I turn on the TV, I get no sound from any inputs. I have to turn off the TV, unplug for about 5 secs and plug it back in and it works again. Conclusion If you are looking into this TV for next gen, wait. If you don't care about 120 then this TV is fantastic. Colors and picture quality are all expected out of this OLED. If you don't plan on getting next gen consoles anytime soon (not because of the supply shortage at the moment) and are content with just watching TV, Streaming, or the occasional game, then you are absolutely golden. Just make sure you don't have dead pixels like I did (pic attached) dead pixels do not show up in black content as with OLED the pixels turn off for true blacks.

Q: QuestionI love Vizio products and how you support them after the years of release. My question is I have a Vizio S4251W-B4B 5.1-Inch Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers that I bought in 2015 and still love no issues. Will this TV be compatible

Q: QuestionDoes this T.V. support Dolby Atmos without the addition of a sound bar?
Asked by JJacobs.
- A:Answer Dolby Atmos requires up firing speakers, or other technology to simulate overheard audio. Since the TV only has the 2 standard speakers contained in most TV, it won't be able to play Atmos Audio. If you're source is sending Atmos audio- the TV will down mix it to play through it's speakers.
