4k Ultra awesome
||Posted .i just got the Vizio 65" Ultra 4k and love it! I shopped extensively online and ended up getting a super deal from BestBuy and couldn't be happier. Thanks to the knowledgeable and friendly staff made my purchase easy along with great financing. I'm very pleased in the bang for my buck!

Two returned so far, however...
Posted .The very first day Netflix was unusable because of an image deformation. Suspecting of a needed firmware upgrade I tried to find the manual update option with no luck. Called Vizio and their best advice was to call Netflix. After playing and tweaking I took it back and exchanged it for another to find the same problem. This led me to the conclusion that it was a bug to be fixed later and decided to keep the TV anyways. In fact, the problem was corrected after a couple of hours being off during which a firmware upgrade took place. By the way, there is a way to update it manually, but the option is buried and cryptic. Go to Menu>System>System Information, go down to the last item: Service Check and hit OK. The TV image is really nice after adjusting the Calibrated setting. However, there is a noticeable lag in LED dimming during fast changing scenes. But you need to look a little carefully to see it. My set was working very satisfactorily until two months later a reddish tint appeared all over the screen. This was especially visible in dark backgrounds and with low room light. Also, the dynamic contrast went down a lot in performance. Tweaking, restarting, factory resetting, etc, etc, made no difference. Vizio requested pictures of the issue. You can see two of them here. Because of the camera sensitivity the red tint looks some more intense than in reality. To their credit, Vizio decided to send me a replacement in a quick and painless process. I have had the new one for only a day and hope it goes much better now. Because of the many good reviews for this TV and my completely good experience owning Vizio devices so far, I think that I must have gotten an infrequent lemon. So I’m still giving this set 4 stars (5 would have been too much even without these problems) and hoping that my replacement will last many years.

Now that's an AWESOME TV!!
||Posted .I love this TV and it has been very easy to navigate through. I only have one con, I wish Vizio would add a browser. Other than that I'm extremely pleased!

Beautiful picture but doesn't last.
||Posted .This was purchased in June. Iy was a beautiful picture while it lasted. It is now September and the screen is going dark. It looks like reverse strobe lights flashing dark with dark lines across the screen. Sometines it goes completely black but the sound is still going. Have 2 other Vizios that are great and have had way more usage. There were a few quirky things right after we set it up but they went away until it went dim.

Better than more expensive TVs
||Posted .I've been very surprised by this TV. You would think a 4k TV at this price may not be worth considering but I have been amazed by everything this "entry-level" TV can do. Before I bought the P Series I bought a 65 inch LG 4k TV and was disappointed with its lack luster performance. I love LG as a company but I felt that the picture quality was grainy, it had a lot a ghosting, and there was no real upscaling to speak of so I returned it and waited for the P Series to come out, thankfully I was rewarded with a very capable TV for less money. I ended up getting the TV, a Vizio 5.1 sound bar (which is excellent) and two rear speaker stands for the same price I paid for just the LG TV and this TV out performs it to boot. The Vizio does have a couple quirks which others may have touched upon but all of them can be solved with firmware updates which I'm sure Vizio is working on because they seem to truly care about support for this TV. I've called Vizio customer service once or twice with questions and they are very friendly and knowledgeable, they seem to know about most of the quirks and they have said that their engineers are already working to fix them.

Amazing 4K UHDTV!
Posted .Last year I purchased an open box Vizio 50" M-Series 3D Smart TV from in store. At the time I was NOT a fan of Vizio products since I viewed them as bottom tier brands such as Westinghouse, Sanyo, TCL, etc. Since I wanted a new TV for my living room, I decided to give the nicely discounted M series a try, I was immediately impressed with the color and contrast accuracy of the display. After calibration the only better flat panel I've seen that's magnitudes better is the famed Panasonic VT60. So of course soon after buying that display and reading about Vizio's 4Ks at CES excited me. The 60" P Series arrived yesterday, the delivery crew went ahead and inspected the TV prior to delivery. After they left, I followed Buzzard's calibration settings from the AVS forums and setup the day and night settings. Immediately after, I've checked out Casino Royale on Blu Ray. The blacks were silky smooth on Bond's jacket on the opening sequence where everything is shot in black and white. The following scenes were equally impressive with brilliant colors and range. Next up is gaming, I've built a HTPC/Gaming pc with gtx 760 SLI graphics cards; unfortunately, those cards are not hdmi 2.0 compliant thus 4k at 60hz isn't possible until I get a GTX 970 or 980 or radeon R290x. However, at both 1920x1080P and 4k 30hz fonts are sharp and clear, with no major scaling artifacts. Honestly, it reminds me of the displays on a Retina Imac or a MS Suface Pro 3. Shadow of Mordor looks quite sharp with amazing contrast, and depth of field. The depth of field is so dramatic, it's almost like playing with a 3d display! Overall a MUCH BETTER experience then playing with either my 27" Asus monitor or my year old Vizio M Series which happens to be a 3d tv. A few important things to note, HDMI #5 is the only HDMI port that's HDMI 2.0. All other ports are HDMI 1.4 spec. Meaning all ports will provide 4k video, however, hdmi#5 will allow 4k at 60HZ. For me that's not a problem since the only device I have that's hdmi 2.0 compliant is my AV Receiver (Marantz SR5009) where that will give me an additional 7 HDMI 2.0 ports! I'm assuming most people shopping for 4K at this time will have upgrade plans or are in the process of upgrading various components in their home theater. Also, each version of the P series uses different display technology! BE WARNED! The 60" and 70" uses a VA panel, whereas the 55" and 65" sets have IPS Panels. The 50" may have either technology, thus make note of the model number. Unfortunately, on Vizio's website it appears they've copied and pasted the same specs for both 50" models listed. You may need to dig through the forums or call Vizio for the details. Essentially, IPS provides clearer wider off-axis viewing angles, and extremely accurate color gamut. However, contrast on IPS panels are not as good, thus not as well suited for low light viewing since you may get bleed and blooming. This will be well suited in a bright environment where you may look at the tv from the sides instead of dead on. VA panel versions provide better contrast and faster response, making it better suited for night time movie viewing, and games. Also reviews and settings for IPS versions of this tv cannot be directly compared to the VA versions. Personally I'm happy to have purchased the 60" version over the 65" because of my uses. I hope you find this helpful. Feel free to ask me questions if you have any!

Good TV if they work out the kinks
||Posted .The intention of my review is to help someone make the right decision on purchasing this Tv or not. It wasn't to bash on any of the negative points of this product but to point them out if they weren't obvious before.I was not really a fan of Vizio but a brother in law persuaded me into trying it out. Well, I've had the tv now for about a month. The Tv is actually nice but there are a few things I really don't like about it and knowing what I know know. It would lead me to buy a different Tv. One Major issue is that the power off toggle doesn't always work. I thought it was possibly just the unit I got but after returning one tv for another and calling VIZIO problem is still not fixed. Power on always work but most times I have to get up and manually turn off the tv with the button on the back. Calling tech and 3 remotes later no fix! My next big gripe about the tv is the power consumption. If you didn't check the sticker annual projected cost is $67 that's 3 times higher then the Samsung I originally planned to buy. I got my tv during black Friday sale so it was the lowest price of the year. The price difference between the Samsung and this Tv was $500 but if you calculate power consumption you'd be making up the difference in more electricity used by the tv. I believe the Samsung projected annual usage was only $18 per year vs $67 per year for the Vizio. The good things I like about the tv is the simple look of the Tv and really the 64 dimmable Led array meaning the blacks can look really black. Since there were 64 arrays the tv does not need to turn on all the back the backlit portions of the tv only where color is on screen. Example on your old lcd tv, when the tv goes black, ever notice light is on at the corners? This is what's called light bleed out. This doesn't happen to the Vizio. It can turn off all unnecessary back lighting so some portion of the screen is off.

Q: QuestionI plugged my HD cable box into 4K port on tv. recieved a message saying I would get a better picture in a different port. What can be plugged into 4K
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The port (#5) on the Vizio P65 is for 4K (UHD) content at 60 Hz. It does not provide any of the upscaling functionality that helps with better display of 1080 HD content; use port #1 for your cable box. Your cable box most likely outputs 1080i which is HD, not UHD. Current sources for true 4K are via the USB port (computer downloads) and streaming from some providers such as Amazon Instant Video and Netflix.

Q: QuestionDoes the Vizio P series 65" TV have Bluetooth capabilities?Does the Vizio P series 65" TV have Bluetooth capabilities? If not, how can I set up my Bluetooth speakers to enable me to use for sound in the TV?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, this TV does not support Bluetooth. You should be able to connect your sound bar via HDMI or Optical. I've never seen a Bluetooth only sound bar unless your referring to a portable Bluetooth speaker. In that case, you would need a Bluetooth adapter.

Q: QuestionWay to add bluetooth to TV?Since the TV does not come with bluetooth, is there something that could be plugged into the TV that would then allow TV to connect to a soundbar via bluetooth? My soundbar has bluetooth but this TV does not.... would prefer to not have to use the digital optical audio cord. Thanks, Justin
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I added my Vizio 2.1 soundbar to my UHD Vizio 65 inch tv with the provided cables. The soundbar is bluetooth but not the tv. You can pair other bluetooth devices to the soundbar only.
