This phone the VTech - CS6114 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone - White, is a great phone for the elderly for it is very easy to use. The only thing against the phone is that it does not have the locator button so if you misplace the handset you can't just 'beep' the phone to find it.

If you are looking for a basic, vanilla, run of the mill home phone, this item is great option. It's affordable, compact, easy to install and use.
