New Style of Gaming
Posted .When I first played this game I was shocked on how much I enjoyed it. Roaming an open world Chicago, you are able to hack into endless different types of technology. It was refreshing to see a new type of game that I am not use to, although the controls are hard to get use to at first it is still a blast. There are many weapon and vehicle choices for the size of the map. Cons: The graphics of the game seemed to be last gen to me, a lot of textures were not very well done along with the cut scenes. But overall they aren't terrible. The vehicle controls remind me of playing GTA 4, which is terrible because the cars don't handle as they should and you can virtually run into anything without damaging the vehicle or your person. As you drive you can hack into traffic lights and what not but you are unable to use your gun.. Also may last complaint is when I was told you were able to choose how to play the game (stealth or run and gun) I was excited. Come to find out there are alot of missions where you will fail if you are seen by an enemy.. Overall this is a fantastic game with a new refreshing taste of open world play. Definitely worth a purchase if you are still thinking about it.

Like GTA? Then you'll like this
||Posted .Still early and I haven't progressed very far, but I've been pleased thus far. If you're ADD or OCD as I tend to be sometimes, you'll find yourself distracted from the main story and attracted to the plethora of mini-games and play them obsessively until you get a score you can be satisfied with ;). One of the first missions threw me for a loop. Had to evade the police, but drove around for 15 minutes and couldn't figure out what I needed to do. Finally reset to checkpoint, and actually engaged the police more directly before evading successfully. A lot like GTA, but a bit more brainpower is required for some of the hacking. Hasn't been too difficult yet and offers a nice challenge. Still trying to get the hang of all the in-game phone apps (D-pad up) and the progress wheel, skills, etc. Overall, a lot to it all. Likely to keep me engaged for far more time than I really have. The honey-do list is going to grow again, I fear.

1st smart TV purchase
||Posted .Unfortunately, I have not open my new product (LG-TV), as of yet. However, my review will be on the purchase and the insight of the Sales Rep, which I feel was a teachable moment due to his awesome insight and information shared during my indecisiveness on the product that I thought I wanted, again, to the insight learned on each product that helped me in my decision to purchase the LG. I would like to take this time to acknowledged my Sales Rep for his knowledge (knowing his craft), his attention, but more importantly, his time in working with me, thank you!!!!

My son loved it.
||Posted .I purchased Watch_Dogs for the PS4 and Xbox One. I have the PS4 and my son the other platform. The game looks amazing on both systems; however, the PS4 version is running at a higher rate and has an overall more polished feel. In many ways, this is the tech version of GTAV. The side missions have the same structure as GTAV, but lack the silliness or chaos. My son did complete the game (unlike me) and enjoyed the complex storyline, however, he also had issues with the repetitive (and slightly boring) side missions that lacked the craziness of GTAV. I guess he and are related (ha ha) and probably had our expectations driven too high by the euphoria caused by GTAV.

GTA with hacking
||Posted .Watch Dogs is a highly ambitious attempt at something new, that doesn't quite try hard enough. If you like GTA, you will very likely enjoy Watch Dogs as well. It has a very familiar feel to it, while adding something different, but they didn't go far enough with the hacking options and capabilities. The potentially most shocking, is that it is set in the future, but still uses a standard smart phone for all of the hacking. They could have easily incorporated something similar to Google Glass, to explain why you can "see" what is hackable. I look forward to seeing how they expand on this idea with the sequel though.

Good game for a new IP.
||Posted .Good game to pass the time with, especially if you own a X1 or PS4. Graphics are sometimes rough around the edges, but every once in a while you see something pretty impressive. Storyline seem to grab your attention and drive the gameplay. There is plenty to do in the world of Watch Dogs, and I found myself always off the beaten path, which is a good thing. The driving, feels off, and it seem more rewarding to drive slow, and use your handbrake. I tend to only drive when necessary, which works out great when you are looking for money and new events while hacking. Overall a good try for a new IP.

Good but Over Hyped
||Posted .In a nut shell, if you are a fan of open world, sandbox type games you will like this. It reminds me more of Grand Theft Auto, except it's not as blatantly "kill cops, jack every body else" don't get me wrong there is some of that, but it's not as bad. The main campaign story line (so far) has been interesting (I'll leave it at that, no spoilers :) I'm a parent so I wouldn't buy it for my kid if he was younger than the suggested rating but that's just me. Bottom line: decent game, doesn't live up to the hype, but if you approach it in that way, it should be enjoyable.
