Q: QuestionI will be using this drive exclusively for backup purposes. I plan on scheduling one backup a week. Because of limited port availability I will only have this SSD plugged in during the timeframe the backup is running. Will this be an issue?

Q: QuestionAre there instructions included for reformatting to FAT32? Will reformatting to FAT32 cause the drive to lose the encryption program?

Equipped with USB 3.2 Gen-2 technology, the My Passport SSD comes with a USB-C cable and USB-A adaptor to work with legacy systems. However, the hard drive can be reformatted in a supported exFAT format to be used on Windows and macOS. Q: QuestionWD Passport Ultra HD USB C not recognized by desktop even though Best Buy said they tested all desktop USB ports when new. I want a backup that works using USB C without USB A Adapter. If HD Passport won't work in C, will this SSD Passport Type-C work?

Q: QuestionI'd like to use this to transfer data. Mac to windows and a very old windows machine - windows 7 with intel I5 Gen 2 to my brand new windows 10 I7 gen 11 machine. Can this be done straight out of the box or will I need to do reformatting of the drive?
