If you have $ for an SSD, get it. If not, get this
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.So far I've purchased 2 of these drives. My first was a 4T drive for our Xbox One S and then I purchased this 5T drive for our PS4. Packaging was nice, build feels sturdy and has a little weight to it. They've performed nicely and haven't had any issues so far, nor do I plan to. I've owned Seagate and WD in the past and also currently have a portable WD for my laptop. Huge reason I chose WD over Seagate is I had not one but two Seagate hard drives crash and unable to recover my data before. Therefore, I do what I can to stay away from them. I wish the write speeds were a little faster (states up to 140mbps) but it's to be expected. It says its accelerated but without testing speeds ect side by side, I dont really notice a difference. I was doing big transfers (totalled 1.5T) and took quite a while to do it. I wanted an SSD but wasn't prepared to pay for them. Instead, I settled on this drive and was happy enough with it that I purchased a second. I'd purchase again if needed.

Works great
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Case feels solid. Compatible with my router so I can access my files from any device. Super convenient if I wanted to let’s say, store a movie from my computer and watch it in the living room on my Xbox. It’s been running nonstop for about a month now and no strange noises or issues so far! I’ll try to remember to update this review if I ever have any issues. Purchase price: $105 before tax for 4tb model.

This drive is SLOW!
Posted .I remember the days when WD Black drives were Western Digital's "Performance" drives. Although I didn't buy this to be a "game drive" as marketed, but rather just a file backup drive, I figured this was a bit more than just WDs cheapest 2.5" HD in a nice enclosure. That was not the case. I'm getting read/write speeds of about 80-100MB/s, which is far below today's standard for 2.5" drives. I was expecting something between 125-150. Very Disappointing. Don't buy these! Get an easystore or seagate expansion instead!

4TB WD_BLACK P10 worked with Playstation 4

Notes: * The 4 TB P10 hard drive connects to the PS4 by one USB cable. * The 4 TB P10 hard drive is physically smaller than the 8 TB D10 model. * The 4 TB P10 hard drive powers by the PS4 USB port and does not use an AC plug, unlike the 8 TB D10 model that has an AC adapter & plug. * At the time of the April 16, 2020 PS4 system software version 7.50 you can format the hard drive as extended storage for the PS4 by navigating to Settings/Devices/USB Storage Devices/WD_Black P10 Game Drive/Format as Extended Storage. Additionally the hard drive can be set as the "Application Install Location" by navigating to Settings/Storage then opening the options menu and choosing extended storage as the application install location. * At the time of the April 16, 2020 PS4 system software version 7.50 if the hard drive is assigned as extended storage it will act as storage for "Applications" only. Accordingly Capture Gallery, Saved Data, and Themes will stay on the PS4 system storage. * Applications can be moved from the PS4 system storage to the extended storage. During this process the move of the application will take priority and can not be run in the background.

- A:Answer This is a great external drive. It is fast and should be great for your system as long as you have an open USB port. This external drive is faster than normal external hard drives, but not as fast as a SSD. The cost of the drive for the amount of storage and speed are great.
