WD 500GB hard drive
Posted .This drive is best for you who need alot of storage space. Maybe you work with huge video files or like to store your DVD's on your harddrive and watch them on your monitor. It has a huge 16mb cache to help access times. If you are a gamer this drive probably is not for you. The larger the drive it take slightly longer to access the info. Gamers are looking for max speed and a smaller drive would be slightly faster. It installed easily (plug and play). It does not run overly hot. Noise was within tolerable ranges.

WD reliability shines through
Posted .I've been building PC systems for 7 years now and I can attest that WD is the most reliable drive I have used in most of my systems. I personally started with Hitachi, which I eventually avoided after the bad "Deathstar" wave of shipment, however, I think it's much more reliable now, after quality control. I had a Maxtor and a Seagate before, they both already failed. WD is the only drive that has yet to crash in any of the systems I made. Of course, people will have different experience with different brands of drives, but with my years of experience, including my friends who build systems, we all agree that WD continues to be the most reliable drive.

Good, fast hard drive
Posted .I bought 2 of these to set up in a RAID 0 configuration. They worked great! I have noticed a significant improvement in how fast my computer can access data from these drives. My only problems were with the software. I couldn't get the disk to install in Vista. So, I downloaded the software from WD's website, and that worked. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hard drive. I have tons of storage space and I can access it very quickly.

Good Deal
Posted .I purchased this internal hard drive about a year ago when I needed drive with a lot of space. It was pretty easy to install- even for someone with no experience. I was able to fit it into my tower pretty well. I haven't had any problems with it. It's a 500 gb drive but after you install it, it becomes 465gb. I would recommend it to anyone who has the SATA cable and room for another internal drive. It's a good deal.

Okay... Had problems
Posted .Just picked one up, and I've noticed it is a lot louder then any of my 320gb SeaGate. I have gone through a few Western Digital hard drives, but this one (2nd HD in my PC) is kind if loud, I can hear it making annoying clicking sounds every once and a while, when I am downloading content.
