great TV.
Posted .love the picture on this TV 1080p looks amazing. sound is real flat butt that's what i expected from a TV that is 1 3/4 inch thick the speakers are facing out of the back side of the TV so if it is real close to the wall it sounds bad. i have a 5.1 surround sound so no problem with the sound there but i have to agree the sound sucks on the TV. But if you watch a lot of movies you more then likely have a sound system to hook up to the TV. dose not get real warm witch is real nice!!!!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friendRating 1 out of 5 stars with 1 review
GREAT PRICE FOR A POOR PRODUCT
Posted .As I purchased this TV on Black Friday, I got home and hooked it up. 1.) The sound is terrible. Pretty much, all new slim-line TVs have the same issue. But this one at full volume, my cell phone speaker is louder. 2.) There was a small black line at the top left and a small white line on the top right. I thought, "Ok, maybe they'll go away after a few break in hours. Not the case, the lines got worse. I am definitely returning this TV and upgrading to a better one. Even if I have to downgrade to and LCD TV. In conclusion, Best Buy didn't have any of these TVs on display. Westinghouse must have shipped these to them and said "Please sell these"

It's a great DISPLAY
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFor all those interested in this TV, I've spent the last 2 weeks with it and run it through the course...kind of. Let me begin by saying I already owned an Onkyo surround sound system and I was aware of the horrible sound and let me make it clear, the sound on this is horrible which is why from my perspective, I'm going to provide my review of this thing as a DISPLAY unit only. For anyone looking at purchasing a TV and using it's built-in sound, keep looking...this is not the unit for you. Now, I've spent some time with it and here are my comments: 1. Yes, it's a bit flimsy but it's $650 and like 1.5" thick. Of course it's going to be flimsy. The base actually has a hole towards the rear where you can drive a screw through the base and into whatever piece of furniture the tv is sitting on. I'd highly recommend using this hole or a wall mount to secure this tv. 2. Yes, the sounds sucks. There's no point in playing with the settings. The speakers are absolutely horrible. Avoid using them at all costs. Other LCD's and "thin" sets have bad speakers too but they're not THIS bad. The sound from these speakers literally hurt my ears. 3. The display is actually very good. I happen to be using this set for gaming on my 360 and while some would say that thats when you need the best display, I've noticed that this tv exceeded my expectations. For gaming, I'm coming from a 42" rear projection so any LCD would have been a HUGE jump for me but I also happen to own a 42" Sony Bravia LCD 120Hz as my primary display for Television, DVD, BluRay and the occasional 360 gaming (i own several 360's) and simply stated, the Sony is a better tv but the Westinghouse is "good enough". Here's why: 3a. 120Hz. The Westinghouse has it. There is no doubt about it. It is definitely smoother than a 60Hz display but at the same time, not all 120Hz capable tv's are created equally. It's smooth but you can tell that the Sony has that extra bit of software that pre-processes the image and smoothens the video just a bit more for that additional "wow" factor. So, if you have the cash, get the premium brands with the additional software optimizations and you'll be perfectly happy. If price is your thing, the Westinghouse's 120Hz is nothing to laugh at, unless you own a Sony :-), but it's raw and you will still notice, if you want to get nit picky, the slightest jittering on the screen. I want to stress that you have to be on the lookout for it. If you're the kind of person who wants to save a few bucks and you can settle for 95%, this tv's 120Hz is for you. Note that the inputs will always say @60Hz. The TV uses a light combination of software/hardware to smoothen the video playback on the 120Hz display so if see "60Hz" on the screen when you switch inputs, channels, etc, don't freak out like my wife did. 3b. LED. So far, so good on that. I consider my Sony to be on the upper echelon of traditional backlit 120Hz LCD's and I notice some issues with large spots of slightly brighter "black" than other areas of the screen where it's also supposed to black. It's just a side effect of having bulbs behind the screen but when compared to the LED lighting on this display, I'd have to say their "quirks" are about equal and overall, I'm happy with the LED backlighting. It seems smooth, consistent and I like that I'll actually notice my electric bill go down after retiring my rear projection tv. 3c. Over-Under scan. Almost every TV no matter what tv you have will either over or underscan the source image. For example, with my Sony, because I run all of my tv's @ 1:1 unless the source isn't 1080p, I'll notice a black and white line at the very top of the screen every once in a while and more so on my cable box then my dvd player. This kind of stuff just happens. It's when the device, the content and the display are not all "in sync" I guess I'll say to keep things simply. It just happens on LCD's, not absolutely every LCD, but on a bunch. Depending on your source, your manner of connecting the source to the tv and what content your displaying on your tv, you may notice a "white line" at the bottom. Just like my Sony has a similar line on the top, the Westinghouse will do this on the bottom. After 2 weeks, I hardly notice it. If I absolutely have to get rid of it, I can "zoom" the picture and lose the 1:1 or normal resolution adjustments but you will lose some of the content because of the zoom. This is just a fact of LCD's and if you don't notice it on the LCD you own or the other ones at the store, it's because that particular TV is hiding a portion of the content from you. Set the tv's side by side, use the same source, the same cable and the same resolution and you will see what I'm talking about. One tv is showing you more of the picture than the other and consequently, you might get a line or two at the bottom or the top on one of the tv's. 4. Inputs. If you have three or more HDMI sources to connect, buy a switch, an av receiver that accepts HDMI and passes the video through, etc but if you absolutely have to plug 3 HDMI devices into your TV, do not buy this tv. 5. The remote also sucks but it sucks because it matches the feature set of the tv which also sucks. This TV can be counted on as a display only. It does not connect to the Internet and for the life of me, why would you want it to? Netflix? Get a 360 or if you're a Sony fan, a PS3, and see what Netflix OnDemand can do for you! 6. Media inputs like an SD card reader? There are none. My Sony has them and I've NEVER used them. Like I said, I'm a 360 fanboy so I store all of the photos on my computer and use the 360 to browse through them over the network. In summary, I think this is a good display, not a good TV, and not just "for the money" but all around, it's a good display and if you can live with the limited features, if you have surround sound and you're on a budget, this is an excellent buy. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes, as long as they're looking for a good display device to go with their surround sound system. The main problem for me is that I'm VERY concerned about how long this thing will last. Every time the source resolution changes or it loads a game and does that quick switch from 640x480 to 1080p where it prompts the tv to redisplay the resolution/channel info, I get a little nervous thinking "did it just die?" and honestly, I'm really considering getting an extended warranty just because it is my first westinghouse and the brand though well known, doesn't exactly have a shining reputation, but in all honesty, I went through the same nervous breakdown with my Sony just because this is a large purchase and I don't want to make it too often. So if you're like me and you want that extra bit of comfort, buy a service plan.

Experienced opinion Great Tv
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have alot of experience in the tv department I use to work at best buy and also was a tech for comcast which I hate .... anyway I think this is a great buy and you get more for your money. First of all everyone claims the speakers suck ... well of corse they do! Good speakers require big magnets! Any tv that is only 1 3/4 inches thick is only generally going to have tweeters and no mid range or base... so when buying a LED LCD do not expect any of them to have good and/or premium sound out of the box! .... Now the speakers are on the back of the tv like most LED's so when you hang on the wall the sound bounces off the wall before it gets to you .... there for it has a little reverb affect. The power brick straps on back of the tv so it is no big deal to hang it on the wall I seen a bad comment about that earlier... mine is hung on the wall and if you do decide to hang it on the wall make sure you know what your doing or have a professional come do it and also have a recessed plug added by yourself or a electrician if your going to hang the tv do it right and don't have all the cords hanging ...... Wall Fish! I have had no problems with mine yet although I returned the first one i bought because it had 2 pixels out ... WHICH IS VERY COMMON WITH ALL LCD's Great picture .. some complain about the corners be brighter when it is a blank screen but thats only because its corner lite can not notice a difference when there is a picture The Remote has never gave me a problem what so ever i can switch channels outside of my house ...., down the hall, and so on Switching channels can be slow and theres not many inputs and so on but i believe that for 650 I already got more then i could bargain for!

Good value under $700
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this model for under $700. Good picture; sound is poor in comparison to other models. Recommend external speakers. Settings and features not as extensive as other top tier brands. No internet or LAN connection options. Great budget HDTV.

Great set for price
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was wary about this because it wasn't Sony, Samsung, or Phillips. The doorbuster deal on it was too good to not try though. The image is super crisp, colors are vibrant, and I have zero complaints with the image quality. I was glad to discover it was less expensive not because it was junky parts, but the unit saves $ by not having all the bells and whistles. What's missing: no built-in antenna for over the air HD, no component hook-ups (relies on you getting a VGA-to-component kit), no internet connectivity, and only 2 HDMI ports. Also as it's been noted, the speakers are tingy and bassless. Really though, with any HDTV you should have external speakers for a full experience.

Good Budget TV
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was a little concerned before I bought this TV because there were no floor models available to test before taking it home. Also, there are only two HDMI port's and I didn't want to buy a budget TV only to spend my money on an HDMI hub later. I decided to go ahead and make the purchase sight unseen because getting an LED TV for $650 is a great deal and I am glad that I didn't read the reviews on the website until after I set my TV up. My set works fine, no lines of problems with the video and although the sound is not so low that you cannot hear the TV. The picture quality is good, it didn't blow me away but I don't have HD Channels yet so my comparison is to my old digital TV. The sound quality is okay and you will most likely need a supplemental speaker but from I have read that is normal for LED-LCD TV's. All in all a good budget TV.

Fantastic For The Price
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis LED TV comes with everything you could need for great viewing. It has 2 HDMI ports. More then enough for your average user. The picture is great! I use this with my Sony Network Media Player to stream Netflix and Hulu Plus the picture is great. The reviews are true about the sound it is horrible. I am using a surround sound system with it and a univerisal remote app on my iPhone. So the remote, internal sound options, and lack of 20 HDMI ports takes nothing away from the purchase or the great value of the TV. You can not find a TV of this size, thats LED, and with picture quality like this for the price. I totally think this is a great buy if you can grab it.
