Music straight from the Mau5...no suit influence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Deadmau5' new album is a change of pace from what you might expect. No, its not going to make your bedroom or frat party turn into a instant rave. You can't fist pump to it. You couldn't play it cover to cover at Ultra or EDC (because the PLUR kids would probably throw beads at you) -- but this album draws a line in the sand, separating itself from the direction that the "EDM" scene is going both musically and stylistically. If you want to hear the speakers buzz in your modded Honda Civic, perhaps try the new Afrojack or Tiesto album. If you want to experience music on a higher plane, try plugging in for that long lonely drive or at work when you're doing an otherwise draining task. The ambient nature of this album is an experience that audiophiles will appreciate and the narrow-minded #selfie crowd will hate -- Just as Joel intended <3 Viva Le Horde

An interesting take on Deadmau5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this album on a whim after listening to tons of Deadmau5's other albums on Pandora and I must say I am quite shocked at how different this album is from his previous work. It's relatively mellow music, lots of piano, minimal bass throughout many of the songs and overall has a much more electronic vibe to it. The good news is that I listen to a lot of ambient electronic music when studying so this will complement my collection of ambient music. However, I was really hoping for more of the Deadmau5 I was used to listening too with heavy beats. Either way, it's not a bad album but not the album I was hoping for. I'm not a fan of every track but I will continue to listen to it in the future.

Double disc is worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a Deadmaus fan, this double-disc is amazing! It's not your typical bass pounding techno clubbing cd. There are a few of these songs that are really good. I like how he takes a different direction on his latest album, and has a chill vibe to his songs. I am a huge Trent Renzor, NIN, and "How To Destroy Angels" fan, and am really impressed with Deadmaus' influence of them on this album. This double-disc is a must own as part of your Deadmaus collection.

Loved it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This album took me by surprise, as most deadmou5 that Ive heard came from media sites like youtube, so I was expecting hard basslines and not to much else, this album has good bass without over doing it, losts to keep you interested without becoming overwhelmed, good to relax to after work when you dont want something that will put you to sleep.

Deadmau5 grows up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Deadmau5 gets contemplative on this album, with what sounds like influences from daft punk, groove armada, autechre, among others. Get ready for a varied listening experience in which I've played the album through a few times. Glad I bought this album on CD... Really makes a difference on large and/or premium stereos.

A bit different but great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The album is over 2 hours of pure deadmaufive bliss. It uses most of his themes from his piano compositions "7". There are many tracks that incorporate "real" instruments. The bonus track "Petting Zoo" is fun and worth the extra money.

It's a great addition to his collection but....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoyed his first creations in the genre but with the ever growing market this comes as lacking. Not from him as an artist but from his growth into something more. All in all still an enjoyable cd though.

Its a two disk album.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This album comes with two CD's. Joel Zimmerman considered this his first real album. I enjoy it.
