I bought this unit because it had a good mix of features for the price. A lot of similar over the range microwaves with the same look and features were a lot more expensive, including having convection and so forth. The installation was a bit of a pain because the placement of the various holes for mounting bolts and cord are very unforgiving. The mounting bracket for the back was also rather flimsy compared to my prior unit and it was tricking getting it on the wall without bending it. Once up though, it looks great and so far it functions very well.

This is Whirlpool's top of the line microwave. Our old microwave stopped working and we called our home warranty company to replace. They were going to use Maytag or something like that, stating that they were both made by the same manufacturer. All of our appliances are Whirlpool and that's not a good look. Trust me, I'm a real estate agent. We opted for a cash payout and decided find our own microwave. After researching the exact replacement and the two more upscale microwaves, we found a great sale where the price difference wasn't very high. We were able to get the top model. It has the same width, but sits out about 2 inches further. Because the buttons are on the door, it swings out so much further, but it makes it much roomier inside. The glass tray is also much bigger. This thing also can cook like a convection oven. I mean it cake bake, not microwave, anything, It comes with a rack, trays, and a steamer basket with a lid. We are very pleased.

Ok the first one arrived damaged and could not be installed. Packaging needs to be better for shipping. Customer service was awesome in helping me return and get a replacement sent out! Installation was very easy and I was able to figure out a way to install alone. Controls are easy to figure out. Sensor cooking works well but not as good as the frigedaire professional I had before. But that one died when the sensor cooking was cooking a potatoe and it caught fire after three years of use. I put a whole chicken in not expecting much and entered the weight and pushed start after it signaled it was done I went to check and had a perfectly roasted chicken!!! Can't wait to try the convection on baked goods. So far I am really happy so let's see how it holds up knock on wood

Many appreciate its size, performance, and stylish appearance, while some found the instructions insufficient and reported issues with the door. The price point also received favorable comments.
