Q: What is the metal rack on the inside of the door for
A: It is for cans of beer or pop. It was driving me crazy for two days. I never would have figured it out until someone told and now it makes perfect sense. You can fit 6, 12oz cans on their side and they are very secure and out of the way. Really nice feature. Whirlpool should tell you in the instructions what its for.
A: THE BEST BUY ANSWER IS THE CORRECT ONE. THE MANUAL IS USELESS. THE INSTALLATION GUIDE IS USELESS. THE STICKER ON THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER SAYS FOR STYLE 2 (WHICH IS WHAT IS PICTURED IN THE OTHER ANSWER BY BEST BUY) THE SWITCH IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ICE MAKER. NO IT ISN'T. IT IS ABOUT 2" IN FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ICE MAKER AND IS A SIMPLE ROCKER SWITCH. YOU NEEDN'T REMOVE THE ICEMAKER TO GET AT IT, JUST FIND SOMEONE WITH A SMALL ENOUGH HAND TO REACH THROUGH THE DOOR, FEEL AROUND ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ICEMAKER 2" FROM LEFT AND 1" FROM THE FRONT AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND THE ROCKER SWITCH. IF THE ICEMAKER IS BUZZING BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T CONNECTED THE WATER YET, SWITCHING THE ROCKER SWITCH SO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROCKER SWITCH IS DEPRESSED SHOULD TURN IT OFF. REMEMBER HOW TO TURN IT BACK ON WHEN YOUR WATER FLOW IS ESTABLISHED.
Q: What is the coil of plastic tubing behind the veg drawer for?
A: The coil fills with filtered water and it is chilled by the inside cod temp of the fridge thus creating chilled water on demand. Runs out quickly if you want large quantities of chilled water. Hope this helps
Q: the depth of stainless in description says 30in, is that correct. Does it have wheels
A: The actual depth of this fridge is 30 and 1/2 inches from back to face of stainless steel door. The doors are wrapped to about a 2 inch depth on the sides, so you could get away with about a 28 1/2 depth if you needed to (plus water line hardware/tubing if so equipped). The handles add about an 1 1/2" out front in the middle. I moved it several times while installing the water line for the ice maker/ water dispenser, piece of cake - rolls easily. Nice fridge, works perfectly. Ice maker cranks out plenty of ice (although it is winter currently) and the filtered water tastes fine (a calibrated test revealed TDS of just under 350, which is the general standard for US water supply - my well water is commonly over 500 pre-filter). On the smaller side, fine for family of 3 or maybe 4 but a larger family likely would need more storage space. Happy with it, would buy this unit again.
A: I also didn't think the water was very cold, and I expected it to be chilled. It hasn't bothered me because I am always adding a half glass of ice! I don't know why the water wouldn't be just as cold as the regular glass of water I used to keep in the refrigerator. That should be a manufacturing flaw!
A: Hi tcor, the unit is not delivered with the doors off, but they can be easily removed for installation. If you remove the doors, the depth of the cabinet will be 28 inches. We hope this helps!

Not perfect, but it will do!
The Kenmore we had decided to stop working after five years, so we had to scramble to find a new fridge that would meet our height requirement. Of the few options available to us, this was the best choice due to overall capacity and a few other features we were looking for (for example, I prefer a side-by-side design). PROS: We like the fingerprintless finish. The water filter compartment is easy to access. The shelves on the door on the fridge side are adjustable. CONS: The exterior dispenser is all black, but the photos online (not just on from Best Buy, but everywhere) show a black top and stainless steel body. I also think it’s strange that the water and ice come out of two different dispensers (our Kenmore had one dispenser, and was tall enough to fit a water bottle). The photo of the bottom shelf of the fridge door shows a clear shelf but ours is a solid white. The doors don’t beep if you keep them open for too long. The shelves on the inside of the fridge and freezer are not adjustable. The overall design of the freezer side is terrible - our Kenmore had the ice maker in the door so there was more shelf space (and what am I supposed to put in that tiny shelf in the freezer door?!). I’m not confident about the capacity on the fridge side either, but will have a better idea of what’s possible when I finally restock the fridge (and freezer). And finally, the design of the feet allows for a little movement when you open the doors. It’s more obvious when it’s empty, but the deliver guy warned us there may be a teeny bit of movement even when it’s full. So in summary, I think this fridge works if it’s for an individual or couple. If you have more than two mouths to feed and don’t have the space restrictions we have, don’t buy this fridge.

Whirlpool - 21.4 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Fingerprint Resistant - Stainless Steel I had a french door Fridge (not whirlpopol)... had more room - in freezer - because icemaker was in the fridge part... this one is opposite and I feel the freezer is a bit smaller... everything we had in the old freezer didn't fit... luckily we have a smaller unit in our garage. We have this about 4 months now with no issues at all!! I wish I had a larger area for a bigger unit - but no regrets with the unit itself.... Sadly there wasn't a french door unit with icemaker that would fit our spot... so..... we make do with the storage available.... Family of 4 - just to give you an idea... storage wise... see picture...

Meh.... It's a fridge
The refrigerator isn't to bad, it's smaller then I expected, I wouldn't recommend this fridge for a family of 3 or more, with this fridge I'm back to doing weekly shopping instead of every 2 weeks I'd recommend this fridge for a 2 person house hold nothing more Freezer is small, the shelves aren't adjustable so how they come is how you have to keep it A gallon of milk barely fits the top shelf and for a half gallon it scraps the top so you have to place it in the door I needed a fridge ASAP and best buy had the best quick fix option, ordered on Wednesday and had it Friday. A lot of other stores had bad orders till sept & Oct I couldn't wait
